ITV I'm A Celebrity viewers get the 'ick' as they make same remarks over scenes just before exit announcement

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here viewers said they got the 'ick' just moments before the first exit of the series was announced. On Friday night viewers got to see the latest action from the jungle as well as find out who would be the first campmate to be leaving the 2022 edition of the ITV reality show.

It was Loose Women star Charlene White who got her marching orders after receiving the fewest votes from the public. Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly headed into camp shortly before the end of the latest installment to reveal the news, with Charlene and Coronation Street star Sue Cleaver left in the bottom two.

On leaving the Australian jungle, Charlene told Ant and Dec: "This is really, really weird." When asked by the Geordie duo about being the maternal figure in the camp, Charlene said: “Once you are a parent, you take on this role wherever you go." She then said she would like Coronation Street star Sue Cleaver or former rugby player Mike Tindall to win I’m A Celebrity 2022.

Also during Friday’s show, Charlene and Boy George were seen taking on the latest Bushtucker trial called Watery Grave where they had to go in two separate tombs and pass over stars to each other with magnets. Water spiders, eels and mud crabs were added to their tombs.

During the trial, ITV News broadcaster Charlene said: "I don’t think I can do this. I’ve just come out of the water as I can’t get in with the eels." She then said: "I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! I was trying, I can’t." When she returned to camp wit Boy George, and only two stars, everyone gave Charlene a hug and Corrie star Sue later gave her a hug while she cried.

But just before her exit was announced I'm A Celeb fans saw the 11 campmates gave speeches as it was the last night they'd all be together as the first elmination loomed with plenty more to come before the grand final on Sunday, November 27. Chris Moyles kept his speech brief, telling his fellow campmates: "I didn't know an of you, apart from George, two weeks ago and now I think we're one big happy, dysfunctional family."

Babatunde Aleshe said: "You guys have made me feel brave... I've conquered two of my biggest fears which is frogs... and heights and every single last one of you I'm going to cherish for the rest of my life." Sue joked that even if she left, they'd be 'seeing her anyway' because "there's no way I'm letting any of you out of my life now".

Scarlette Douglas then said she wanted to get hers out the way next as the emotion started to get to to her and the TV star revealed she had been preparing a rap for a few days which included the line: "You've made me laugh, you've made me smile, you've made this experience all worthwhile."

But I'm A Celeb viewers were soon commenting on social media, littering the show's Twitter hashtag with sick face emojis over the soppy exchanges. @Charlton90 tweeted: "Ick ick ick ick. The second hand embarrassment is real. #scarlett #imaceleb." @Hotsunnydaze1 said: "I hate it when they do this bit.. It is pointless. Just like the letters from home.. they are pointless too #ImACeleb."

@hennyasd wrote: "These speeches and the letters from home are so cringe. #ImACeleb." @keepuphodgson echoed: "These fake speeches are so cringe. Just tell us who is leaving #imaceleb@dajohnson25 commented: "Those speeches were unnecessary. #ImACeleb."

@suzicarrigan joked: "They’ve known each other a week…I don’t even give these speeches when I leave jobs I’ve been at for years #ImACeleb." But @AdamBysouth said: "Sat here clapping watching the telly at the farewell speeches. #ImACeleb." @x_Paigeann_x shared: "Even though I hate half of them in there the speeches get me- #ImACeleb."
