ITV I'm A Celebrity viewers blast treatment of Corrie's Andy Whyment as they say 'I hate it'

I'm A Celebrity... South Africa viewers were left furious as Andy Whyment missed out on an earlier chance of making it into the main camp after going head-to-head with fellow latecomer Myleene Klass.

The Coronation Street favourite and the singer-turned-TV presenter were seen making their first appearance in the I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here spin-off on Wednesday night (April 26) alongside Georgia 'Toff' Toffolo as they joined the likes of Carol Vorderman, Amir Khan, Fatima Whitbread and Shaun Ryder in a bid to be crowned the ultimate campmates.

The bunch of previously seen campmates who were whisked off to the new setting of Kruger National Park, as opposed to the usual jungle location in Australia, but with no public vote, will be competing against each other in a battle to become the first 'I'm A Celebrity Legend'.

During Thursday night's trip to the South African bush, Andy and Myleene were given the chance to get out of the more basic "Savannah Scrub" camp after Toff successfully completed her own challenge and chose Happy Monday's legend Shaun to replace her.

Andy and Myleen were seen being placed in chambers before being buried up to their shoulders with corn. They then had to answer questions to earn points with the overall winner being granted a place in the main camp. Every correct answer left the celeb's opponent being covered in creepy crawlies – or, in one case, frogs.

Myleene was first up and guessed her first question correctly, naming Shakira as the singer of South Africa's Waka Waka world cup anthem while Andy didn't do so well when asked about a character on Byker Grove. But things got slightly tricky when Myleene won her second point, and went on to win overall, despite the fact she said the longest bone in the body is the 'fomer' instead of femur.

And it's fair to say I'm A Celeb viewers weren't happy about Andy missing out. @RyanTheSoapking tweeted: "This is being set up so that Mylene could win. Justice for Andy. #ImACeleb." @BANGW00L_PD cried: "This is a set up... poor Andy #ImACeleb." @caitlin_appleby fumed: "Andy was robbed in that trial Making allowances to myleen but not for Andy #ImACeleb."

It was then revealed at the end of the episode that either Andy, Shaun or Phil Tuffnell, after he was chosen to replace Myleene, would be going home in the first eviction. The trio will have to take part in a challenge to save themselves from an exit but in a twist, they choose another campmate to partner with and if they lose, the two of them will go home.

And fans aren't happy about it including @Katrina_15 who said: "Shaun, Phil and Andy are easily three of the best ever campmates, yet one if them's going to leave??? This is what I hate about this series. If there was a public vote, they'd be top 4 easily #ImACeleb."

@Mrs_AhmedZaman posted: "I cannot believe that one of Andy, Phil or Shaun is going to leave tomorrow night. They are some of the best lads in there #ImACeleb." @michellepryde added: "I am FUMING. Not Phil, Shaun or Andy being one of the first to leave. I hate it here #ImACeleb."
