They may be hosting a different show right now but Ant McPartlin couldn't resist a swipe at his and Dec Donnelly's Britain's Got Talent boss Simon Cowell. The Geordie duo were back on screens on Friday night (November 25) with the latest I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here.
And it came as there were tears among the campmates - but it wasn't quite as it seems. Jill Scott, Owen Warner, and Seann Walsh were enjoying some time down by the creek when former Lioness Jill and Hollyoaks actor Owen asked comedian Seann to do his Michael McIntyre impression.
He then spoke about life in camp in the style of his fellow comedian before attempting to teach Jill and Owen to sound like Michael by getting them to say: "I would like a cup of tea."
In the Bush Telegraph Owen admitted: "Didn’t go very well at all. I sounded nothing like him and I know Jill sounded nothing like him. I’ll stick to the acting and Jill will stick to the football, leave the impressions to Seann."
Owen then said: "I can do David Attenborough," before attempting to sound like the legend himself. "'Here we have Seann, sitting on a rock, the sunlight hitting his face elegantly... watch how he swills the water around his mouth and then licks his lips…'" he said in the style of the broadcaster, biologist, natural historian and author.
Meanwhile, Owen then said his hidden talent was crying on cue. "When I first got on set [of Hollyoaks], I’d watch X Factor or Britain's Got Talent auditions, the really good ones, where they get a golden buzzer or there’s an emotional story to it…"
Seann then asked: "You’d watch that to cry?" to which Owen said: "Yeah." Seann laughed: “I can’t believe that. That’s hilarious! Can you teach us to cry?" Jill then admitted: "I don’t cry in real life, but come on, let’s try."
Owen then instructed the pair: "Pick a point, don’t blink… focus your eyes… really focus on your breathing. Think about how your breathing goes when you cry." Seann turned to Jill and said: "You look like you’re crying!"
Jill pretended to act out an emotional scene to which Owen enthused: “That was very good!" Jill then exclaimed: “I’ve actually got a tear!" But Seann said: "It’s just making me want to go to sleep."
As their crying attempts came to an end, it was back to Ant and Dec in the studio and they had something to say on Owen's BGT confession. Dec said: "How good is Seann's Michael McIntyre? And I can't believe Owen made himself cry for Hollyoaks by watching Britain's Got Talent auditions."
Ant then said: "I used to cry at the Britain's Got Talent auditions..." to which Dec asked: "Did you?" His co-star then quipped: "When Simon Cowell was three hours later," with his comment sparking laughter in the studio. "It's a regular occurrence," Dec then added before moving on.
Meanwhile, I'm A Celeb viewers were seriously impressed by Seann's impression of Michael. @_erinz_ tweeted: "Wtf that Michael McIntyre impression was spot on #ImACeleb." @ursroseanne said: "How did he nail that Michael McIntyre accent #imaceleb."
@ajt05_ wrote: "So you’re telling me that wasn’t Michael McIntyre? #ImACeleb." @aloha_lara commented: "THAT MICHAEL MCINTYRE IMPRESSION WAS SO GOOD #ImACeleb." @CatNotCactus added: "Omg Seann’s Michael Mcintyre impression is insane. Literally thought he’d walked into camp #ImACeleb."
