I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here fans have called out some of the campmates for showing their 'true colours' during the latest task which saw a much sought-after prize up for grabs - letters from home. Sunday night's (November 20) installment of the ITV reality show was another busy one with a Bushtucker trial, an all-camp challenge and another elimination.
Scarlette Douglas was the second celebrity to leave the jungle after receiving the fewest number of public votes. It came 48 hours after Charlene White was kicked out of camp during the first elimination of the 2022 series.
On leaving the Australian jungle, the A Place In The Sun host told I'm A Celeb hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly: "I’m absolutely gutted I’m not even going to lie about it. I know that some people wanted to leave and I was like ‘I’m not ready to go yet’. I wanted to stay for as long as possible because those people are amazing and the jungle is incredible."
Elsewhere on Sunday’s show, the celebrities were offered the opportunity to win personal messages from their nearest and dearest. In order to achieve the prize, the campmates were split into three groups and tasked with balancing 10 blocks on a beam within 60 minutes.
Those whose blocks were balanced at the end of that time would be awarded a letter from home. Sue Cleaver, Boy George and Chris Moyles were up first but struggled initially, while Matt Hancock, Mike Tindall, Seann Walsh and Babatunde Aleshe seemed to have more luck with the task but a lot of blocks still remained.
Scarlette, Jill Scott and Owen Warner were the last group up with 37 minutes left to complete the challenge. After learning "small steps" were best, they completed the challenge in 14 minutes and returned to camp triumphant with all 10 letters.
Matt received a letter from his partner and former aide Gina Coladangelo, who he was caught breaking coronavirus social distancing rules with last June when they were pictured having an affair in his ministerial office, which ultimately led to his resignation as health secretary.
She said they have been "impressed" that he conquered his fear of snakes but added to the West Suffolk MP: "We are less sure about the dancing." Ex-rugby star Mike also received a message from his wife Zara, who is the daughter of Princess Anne and niece of the new King, who he shares three children with.
It read: "Hi my love, we are missing you so much and really needing some papa hugs, but glad you’re sharing them with your campmates. The girls are enjoying sports and throwing themselves into everything at the moment and the little man is loving life, smashing it up, learning some new words. Z, M, L and L. x"
But the trial appeared to cause outrage among I'm A Celeb viewers as they spotted what they believe was a very clear move by the campmates towards Matt. @atateypot said: "Putting Matt's block on last after all the stars her won for camp just goes to show the true colours of all the camp mates. I hope Matt wins."
@japan1812 wrote: "See they put Matt's down last! All the stars he won for them. Disgraceful!" @paulbond86 noted: "I notice that they left Matt’s. Block until last #ImaCeleb." @silverhorizon5 tweeted: "They even put Matt's block on last, so he very nearly didn't get a letter from home. Unbelievable! #ImACeleb." @Gina_Vandy1 posted: "Wow!! Fancy putting Matt's block last. Vindictive people. #ImACeleb." @wbbz6 added: "Matt Hancock's block was the last one put on but he's the first one up to hug everyone #ImaCeleb."
Others praised Matt as he chose to help out Boy George despite their awkward conversation just a couple of days ago. @AndrewLazari tweeted: "After how Boy George has been towards Matt Hancock, Matt still chooses Boy George’s block! That’s the difference between the two! #imacelebrity #ImaCeleb." @daisy211201 added: "Nah matt’s better than me i would NOT try and do george’s block #ImACeleb."
