I'm A Celebrity...Ger Me Out Of Here quickly changed their minds on Charlene White after she took part in the latest Bushtucker trial. The Loose Women star was voted by the public to take on Watery Grave alongside Boy George.
The decision for the pair to do the trial was announced at the end of Thursday night's edition of the ITV reality show before viewers got to see them tackle the challenge on-screen during Friday night's (November 18) installment of jungle action.
ITV News broadcaster Charlene and Culture Club star Boy George had to work together to move stars from one side of a maze to the other while standing in a chamber of rising water. George chanted as he went down the ladder saying: "Hello creatures, I come in peace," before adding: "Least we’re going to get a bath."
As the trial got underway, Charlene, 42, managed to move the first star to George’s side of the maze but he struggled to find it. "Where is it? Is it there? I can’t see it though. Where? Charlene, where is it babe?" he quizzed as Charlene struggled into the water-filled tank she had to plunge herself into while George, 61, was in a separate tank.
Co-host Ant McPartlin commented: "Charlene you might have to push it along more." Charlene admitted: "I’m not sure I can do this. I can’t even step in the water George, currently," to which the 80s icon tried to soother her by saying: "Calm down babe, you got this."
But Charlene started to panic, saying: "I’m trying, oh god I’m really trying." And when Ant told her time was ticking, she snapped: "I know that Anthony!" However, after collecting just two stars, Charlene called out those all-important words... I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here and the trial was over.
Back in camp after getting the support of her campmates, Corrie star Sue Cleaver found Charlene in the shower and hugged her and made her cry again. Charlene said: "I feel like I've let the team down," to which Sue said: "Everyone's got a limit. We've all got limits. We're not the Mikes in the world, OK. We have other strengths."
Charlene then added: "I really miss the kids." She then added: "I know why I came here…" to which Sue, 59, asked: 'What, show you can stick your head in a bunch of eels and a crocodile?" Charlene replied: "Just to feel like I can conquer fear and really challenge myself and just be able to get through stuff. If I'm not doing that, what's the point in me being here?"
Sue tried to pick Charlene's spirts up and said: 'I'd argue, if you look at your first day, what you did before you even got in here, and then if you look at what you were like the first night crying… you've conquered everything.'
But after wanting Charlene to leave following drama over sleeping arrangements in camp, I'm A Celeb viewers had a change of heart. @liadaksy tweeted: "Please don’t vote Charlene our so that I can vote for her to do more trials. She’s useless #ImACeleb." @Jiminho_ said: "Don't vote Charlene out now. We need her doing more challenges. #ImACeleb." @notrowenaa echoed: "Everyone vote for Charlene for the next trial, don't vote her out yet (at the expense of the others being hungry) #ImACeleb."
@__AlexN_ posted: "Now I want Charlene to stay so we can vote her for all the trials #ImACeleb." @TheRealDeclanK1 commented: "I think People will want Charlene to stay now just so they can see her do another trial #ImACeleb." @adamevans1200 added: "People need to vote to keep Charlene in, just so she does more trials. That was absolutely awful."
