ITV I'm A Celebrity 2022 could be welcoming first ever royal to the show in Mike Tindall

Autumn has hit, there is Christmas stock in the shops and on the TV... well surely it's nearly time for ITV's I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! Well, to get you in the mood, rumours of who will be joining the 2022 show have already been circulating and one contestant, if signed up, could be an I'm a Celeb first.

This year's programme could star the show's first ever royal. While in the past we've had Lady C - Lady Colin Campbell, a socialite who has published several books about the royal family - there has never been a member of the royal family taking up the challenge.

According to some sources though, Mike Tindall has been recruited for the new series. The former England rugby ace is married to Zara Tindal, the daughter of Anne, Princess Royal.

A source told the Sun : “It’s a massive coup. Mike has had a box seat for some of the most important moments in royal history for generations. “He is sure to be discreet, but his sheer presence means this series will be an absolute must-watch.” Other names set to feature include comedian Seann Walsh and DJ Chris Moyles, according to Birmingham Live.

Among other stars rumoured to have signed up for the jungle next month are 1980s pop icon Boy George and former Love Islander Olivia Attwood.

Mike would be the first ever royal on the show. In 2019, Chloe Madeley appeared on Lorraine to share her thoughts on husband and former England Rugby player James Haskell's time on the reality show.

And while speaking to Lorraine, Chloe revealed that 'really really good friends' Zara and Mike are 'really enjoying' the show. Chloe told Lorraine: "Tins and Z and James and I are all really really good friends and they think the whole thing is absolutely hilarious."
