Viewers were left unimpressed by Good Morning Britain's attempt at an April Fool's Day gag.
On Friday morning, April 1, GMB 's reporter Laura Tobin invited viewers to have a look inside a greenhouse where she spoke with worker Matt. After a back and forth about some of the plant's history, he then showed Laura some of the more unique and important variants.
Classing the plant as the first of its kind, Matt promised to name it after the ITV reporter. Admiring the plant, Laura decided to lift it for a closer inspection.

What then ensued was Laura 'dropping' the plant and smashing it on the floor. Matt soon stormed out of the greenhouse, visibly furious at the mishap. Desperate to make amends, she then began to scrape the plant off of the floor and asking the camera people if Matt was genuinely annoyed.
However, Good Morning Britain viewers weren't very impressed, and took to social media to say so. Scott Dickinson said: "That was the worst April Fool’s prank ever on #GMB." Similarly, @CurlyShirley02 tweeted: "#GMB What a waste of a nice clay pot and what a ridiculous April Fool's stunt."
@FlopsyPickle wrote: "Slightly concerning the amount of people that believed that pathetic attempt of an April fools joke #GMB #goodmorningbritain @LynzP01 added: "That was the WORST April fools joke #GMB"
However, some did admit they had fallen for the joke and thought Laura had done a good job acting it. @Nevererdofher said: "Good one #GMB April Fool! Good acting skills from @Lauratobin1". And @SLIMNUN said: "Believed the April fool for a minute until I saw the girl laughing and Filming on her phone #gmb". And finally, @ragan_burrows tweeted: "Never seen a worse and more fake april fools #gmb"
