Good Morning Britain viewers criticised Susanna Reid for her comments on Boris Johnson.
The broadcaster fronted Tuesday's edition of the ITV news programme alongside Ed Balls. The two covered the outgoing Prime Minister's leaving speech as he delivered his final address outside Downing Street.
Mr Johnson will be replaced by Liz Truss after she defeated Rishi Sunak in the Conservative leadership race. After winning with 81,326 votes to Mr Sunak's 60,399, she will be appointed as Prime Minister today.

Mr Johnson celebrated his tenure before he issued a message of support to his successor. He said: "I know that Liz Truss and this compassionate Conservative government will do everything they can... this country will endure it and we will win."
Ahead of the speech, Susanna delivered a tribute to Mr Johnson. She said: "This is a Prime Minister who delivered an 80 seat majority at a time of political crisis over Brexit who then entered into the most remarkable international health crisis.
"I remember the night when he was in intensive care and we were preparing for the possibility that the Prime Minister may not survive. He did, he bounced back and delivered an extraordinary vaccine rollout."
The anchors were joined by Mail columnist, Andrew Pierce, who claimed "it's going to be a dull place" without Mr Johnson. Susanna agreed and added: "Perhaps it is what we need."
Viewers following the show on Twitter were confused by the comments.
