ITV Good Morning Britain viewers fume over Richard Madeley's 'grating' name habit

Good Morning Britain viewers were left irrated as they picked up on Richard Madeley's name habit.

The presenter was back the helm of the ITV news programme on Monday morning.

He joined Susanna Reid to bring viewers the latest news and debates after spending a couple of weeks away from the show.

While he was away on holiday, Richard was replaced by former MP and Strictly Come Dancing star Ed Balls.

Richard and Susanna opened the show by discussing the reports that Boris Johnson has been warned to axe Chancellor Rishi Sunak as well as news around the Prime Minister's wife, Carrie.

"I should really be saying welcome to Groundhog Day," the 65-year-old said after welcoming viewers to the programme early on Monday morning.

"Who's in charge? I mean, nothing has changed.

"Is Boris going to last the week? Are there any more parties to talk about? Is it all Carrie's fault? This is where I left the room two weeks ago."

The conversations around the government continued throughout the show and it left GMB viewers picking up on a habit of Richard's.

And it left them switching off.

@ProudGranny24 tweeted: "Richard Madeley’s back ‘Boris’ ‘Rishi’ If #GMB pay their viewers £1 every time Tory politicians called by their first name we’ll all be millionaires by the weekend."

"Stop calling #BorisJohnsonOut14 just Boris like he’s your mate Richard Madeley - take it seriously FFS #GMB," @MarianMazclaz said.

@SunderlandLolly commented: "OFF SWITCH! Richard Madeley is back on @gmb chatting about 'Boris' this 'Boris' that. Then everyone joins in about 'Boris', like they're his mate."

"Put #GMB on for 10 minutes while getting ready for work and Richard Madeley’s constant reference to “Boris” (6 times now and counting) in every discussion from football to Jackie Weaver, as if he’s a mate from down the pub, is really grating on me," @LucyRoffey wrote.
