Good Morning Britain has come under fire following its live coverage of GCSE results day. Students all across the UK will receive their GCSE results today (August 25) as the first batch of pupils to sit their exams since 2019 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Adil Ray and Kate Garraway were back at the helm of the ITV breakfast show today, with Adil taking over from Robert Rinder. The TV personality best known as Judge Rinder has made several appearances on the news programme over the last two weeks alongside different co-hosts Charlotte Hawkins, Ranvir Singh and Kate Garraway.
In Thursday's programme GMB hosted a live segment where school pupil's opened their GCSE results live on air. The class of 2022 are now able to pick their results up in person for the first time in two years after the pandemic.

The ITV show cut live to a school in Leicester where correspondent Nitya Rajan was met with students who were anxiously awaiting their fate.
The first boy to open his results live on air revealed he was 'hoping for some grades just to get him through to his next step'. He soon announced that he had achieved lots of 9s and 8s, which are equivalent to As and A*s in the new grading system.
The next student, Ismat, struggled to read them as she paused before revealed she had been awarded 8s, 6s and 7s.
Another pupil revealed that she was hoping for 'just a pass' as she opened the envelope to find she had achieved 8s, 6s and 5s.
But viewers were left taken aback by the segment, as they begged the correspondent to presenter to 'stop' after calling the live reveals 'painful'.
@MckinlayAlly tweeted: "#GMB please stop this painful watching of young people opening results on live tv, it’s not good tv, feel so sorry for those young people."
@FlopsyPickle said: "I really wish news channels would stop doing this thing of putting people on the spot and letting the entire country know their exact exams results. Surely asking them if they got the results they hoped for is enough, if they insist on doing this."
@DOPreston wrote: "Can’t believe they are making kids open their GCSE results live on TV."
@TheCareKid added: "Why is it that when the news select young people to open their GCSE or A-Level results do they always choose those they know or expect to have achieved A*s? Can we normalise lower grades too since these are most common?."
The reaction comes just a week after GMB viewers were left feeling uneasy when student's A-Level results were revealed live on air on Thursday (August 18).
GMB sent one of the show's correspondents Pip Tomson down to a school to join some students as they opened their results in real time.
But viewers were left uncomfortable by the scenes as one student, Dylan, who was hoping for Bs got D, D, C and appeared to look deflated by the results.
