There's nothing more annoying that being interrupted and Good Morning Britain viewers were left shocked this morning when a guest on the show interrupted host Susanna Reid by stopping her flow and calling her 'Miss'. Quentin Letts, a journalist and critic, appeared on the ITV programme to discuss the cost of living crisis.

The breakfast TV show often hosts lively debates led by the presenters and today was no exception. Susanna, alongside Ben Shepherd, presented a discussion with two guests - Quentin, and former MP Jacqui Smith - giving their views on the current economic climate impacting Brits. However, the discussion was derailed when Letts called Susanna 'Miss'.

Susanna grilled Letts on his views and, with a smile on his face, Quentin interrupted to say: "Erm, excuse me, Miss." Susanna laughed off the term but seemed surprised. She simply replied: "Miss?" with a shocked expression and raised eyebrows.

The debate continued but viewers were less than impressed with the term, which some considered sexist. Fans of the show took to. Twitter to complain. One viewer said: "Quentin Letts tries to put Susanna in her place by addressing her with a sexist patronising "MISS..." (What a flicking horror!) #GMB."

Others weren't sure if they had heard correctly, with one fan writing: "Did he just “Miss” Susanna? @su #GMB." A third viewer questioned: "Did Letts just call her miss??? #GMB." "I do wonder if Letts is on a wind up every time he’s on. Or are these actually his views? And ‘Miss’ … #gmb," wrote one less than impressed social media user.

However, a fifth fan was confused and simply wrote: "What's wrong with "miss"?". What do you think? Was the term patronising or a polite way to address the host? Let us know in the comments. Tune in to Good Morning Britain every weekday morning at 6am on ITV
