Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid was taken aback by a guest's remark on today's show.
The 51-year-old broadcaster fronted Thursday's edition of the ITV news programme alongside Ben Shephard. The two were joined by commentators Quentin Letts and Jacqui Smith to discuss the mounting cost-of-living crisis.
Ministers are reportedly considering a windfall tax on oil and gas firms as a support measure to help ease the damage of rising energy bills. Analysis by the Labour party estimate a windfall tax on operators in the North Sea could raise around £2bn.

Susanna was stunned during the discussion when The Times' political sketch writer referred to the funds as "a few billion quid, but it needs more than that". She said: "You can imagine people saying, 'I tell you what, a few billion quid might help. It might not solve it, but it might help."
Mr Letts interjected: "Unfortunately the politicians will soon spend it. Next thing, Miss, they will be putting a tax on TV companies and you wouldn't be so keen on that."
Susanna was confused as she repeated the "Miss" comment, while viewers on Twitter were in disbelief at the remark.
Chris said: "Did he just “Miss” Susanna?"
Roy added: "Did Letts just call her miss???"
Mellys posted :"I do wonder if Letts is on a wind up every time he’s on. Or are these actually his views? And ‘Miss’"
Ken commented : "Quentin LETTS tries to put Susanna in her place by addressing her with a sexist patronising "MISS..."
