ITV Good Morning Britain's Richard Madeley and Kate Garraway slammed for Scarlett Moffatt interview

Good Morning Britain viewers were left unimpressed as Scarlett Moffatt appeared on the show. The former Gogglebox star was on the ITV news programme to chat about her latest TV show.

Scarlett will appear on BBC Two series Pilgrimage which will see her embark on a religious and spiritual journey by going on a 15 day pilgrimage along with interior designer and presenter Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, England cricketing legend Monty Panesar and Emmerdale actor Louisa Clein.

The chat started with Scarlett, 31, discussing the journey which confirmed to her that she was a Christian after being asked by Richard and Kate about how she 'found God'. She explained that she found herself 'defending' her beliefs during the filming of the programme. "Now I would say that I am a Christian." she said.

"I am still getting used to it. We went to live with some monks and we chatted about our beliefs and I found myself defending my religion and beliefs and then I thought that it must mean a lot to me."

But the conversation soon moved on and the hosts were soon discussing the fact that Scarlett was all set to sit her 14th theory test on Wednesday (April 6) after appearing on the show, with Kate teasing that their guest had a 'big challenge' ahead of her.

Richard, however, was shocked by the amount of attempts Scarlett has had at the test and said: "You failed your driving test 13 times and today you go for your 14th theoretical test. Why do you keep failing? Thirteen is a heck of a lot of failures!"

Scarlett replied with a smile and a laugh: "Yeah, it is isn't it? I don't know, if I knew that I'd probably pass Richard," before Kate informed her that they would quickly ask her a series of driving theory questions live on air and to "treat as a warm up" for the test later today.

The reality TV star and former I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! winner was then asked: "What speed can you go up to where there is a 30 mph speed limit?" before then being shown a series of road signs and was asked to tell them what they meant.

But while Scarlett took it all in good humour, not all Good Morning Britain viewers saw the funny side and blasted Richard in particular for being "rude and condescending."

@therealtinac tweeted: "#gmb ooh Richard madeley not everyone can pass their driving tests with ease, what’s Scarlett doing wrong! Wow could be a nerves , anything, how patronising you are."

"Does Richard Madeley enjoy being rude and condescending to people? Poor Scarlett Moffat!! @GMB #gmb," @CrazyGoat1 said.

@1amarose22 shared: "@GMB Go Scarlett don’t let anyone get you down. No one has a right to tell you what to do or criticise you. You are a lovely lady."
