ITV Good Morning Britain's Laura Tobin says it's her 'last day' as she suffers double Adil Ray name blunder

Good Morning Britain's Laura Tobin was left joking about handing her notice in live on the show after she suffered a double name blunder. She was back on the ITV news programme to bring the latest weather updates via video link while host Adil Ray and Charlotte Hawkins were in the studio.

But it wasn't long before the meteorologist, 40, confused Adil with presenter Aled Jones - eight years after the Walking in the Air singer last hosted the breakfast show when it was called Daybreak alongside Lorraine Kelly.

After being introduced for her latest segment, Laura said: "Well, I've moved to lavender and lavandin fields, I was talking about them before, Aled." Realising her error, she said: "'Aled', I'm so sorry. I don't know why I said Aled, that was a long time ago, Adil!"

She continued to present the weather, but was challenged on her error later by Adil, 48. "Did Laura confuse me with Aled Jones?," he asked. His co-host Charlotte then teased: "Is that because she sang you Walking In The Air?"

Laura then attempted to defend herself by explaining why she had Aled, 51, on the brain. "Can I just say, I've been messaging Aled because I'm going for breakfast with him," she said. "And my brother texted me yesterday to say that his friends are on a cruise with Aled and they all had a nice party last night...

"So it was actually because Aled was in my head, but also you are in my head, Adil." But Adil wasn't having any of it. He cheekily replied: "Wow, well that was better than 'the dog ate my homework,'" before adding: "Let's move on, I'm not convinced."

Later in the show, it was time to return to Laura who was live from a farm in Kent to deliver the latest weather update as much of the country continues to bask in the warm weather. "Lisa is at Castle Farm in Kent," the presenter said. "It is Lisa, isn't it?" he added as Charlotte commented: "Oh you two! Honestly!"

Adil then decided to call her Linda instead and as Laura got her chance to speak, she made another error. "I've already text you to say I'm sorry, Aled," this was then followe by the mistake being made again. She went on; "I text Aled..." before putting her head in her hand as she realised what she said.

Viewers could hear the hosts erupt in the studio as Charlotte commented: "She's done it again!" Laura was then seen laughing as the presenter continued: "Laura, you're doubling down on it."

Laura tried to laugh it off as she jokingly resigned (mirror.co.uk)

"It's just because I literally just text Aled. Sorry," Laura replied: "But I text Adil to say that I am sorry and he text back saying, 'Who is this?'" She then joked: "This is my last day on Good Morning Britain. I'd like to say I've really enjoyed working with everybody. Thank you so much!"

As Charlotte could be heard laughing and saying 'uh-oh', Laura added: "I can think of better ways to go," before saying, "We should move on," with Adil heard saying: "Yes, move on swiftly."
