ITV Good Morning Britain host Kate Garraway has revealed how gutted she was to miss a Christmas event when she had to rush to hospital with "another crisis". However, the presenter didn't say who was in hospital or what had happened.
She told her co-stars on the breakfast show that she had tickets to attend this year's Christmas Carol event, hosted by Catherine the Princess of Wales. She was due to go with her dad who was "looking forward to it for so long".
But Kate explained that they never made it as they "ended up in the hospital with another crisis". She said that she was devastated to miss the concert as she had been last year and "it's just one of the most amazing things ever".

The 55-year-old has had a difficult year as she has had to care for her husband Derek Draper, who has been in and out of hospital ever since catching Covid early on in the pandemic, which caused huge damage to his organs. Kate previously opened up to Lorraine Kelly on her ITV show about the "long battle" to get her husband home as she adjusts to her new role as a carer.
Derek will thankfully be able to spend Christmas at home this year, and Kate recently posted some pictures of her and her family preparing for the festivities. Derek was released from hospital earlier this month, after contracting sepsis, the Mirror reports.
In one picture, Kate's kids Darcey, 16, and Billy, 13, stand next to a beautifully decorated Christmas tree. And in another, Kate's parents help Darcey take a huge tree out of the car.
Kate captioned the photos: "So they say it takes a village to raise a child, but how many does it take to raise a Christmas tree?
Well in my case (altogether now sing along), 5 exasperated shop workers, 4 helpful neighbours, 3 frazzled parents, 2 excited kids & NOT a partridge in a pear tree but my Peugeot. Even my own mother didn’t believe I could get a 6-foot tree in but I knew my Percy Peugeot wouldn’t let me down! So worth it to see the kids so happy, ready for Christmas."
Kate has been very open about the struggle she has faced balancing her work life with caring for Derek. And she shared her experience of trying to get him the care he needs on Good Morning Britain recently, as the show broadcast live from a hospital.
She said: "I know with my own experience with Derek. Finally got into the Long Covid clinic after a year-and-a-half to an amazing group of people that are working on the impact of Covid damage, and they said 'we're going to get you into this person, that person, we're going to take action'.
"The appointments have now come through for (20)23 and (20)24, so you're talking about four years from the impact."
