ITV Good Morning Britain fans praise Daniel Radcliffe as he shuts down Oscars question

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe was praised by ITV Good Morning Britain viewers after he shut down a question from host Susanna Reid. Radcliffe was discussing his new movie The Lost City, in which he stars alongside Hollywood heavyweights Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum.

Daniel plays Abigail Fairfax in the new film, a billionaire and international criminal who kidnaps Loretta Sage, played by Bullock, to find the city, on which her novel is based, Manchester Evening News reports. But while discussing the movie, the actor, 32, was asked about the incident at The Oscars ceremony when Will Smith slapped comedian Chris Rock before he presented an award after making a joke about the actor's wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.

The Good Morning Britain hosts had earlier been discussing the latest on the fallout from the altercation that happened during the 94th Academy Awards on Sunday before Smith picked up his first Oscar for his role in King Richard. Rock has made a comment on the situation during his latest stand-up gig, admitting he was "still processing" what had happened but will talk about it "at some point". He referenced the incident at a stand-up show and promised that when he did comment officially it would be "serious and funny".

When Susanna tried to find out what Daniel thought of the Oscars incident between Smith and Rock, he seemed reluctant to be drawn in on the talk. The GMB co-host remarked that other celebrities have said they were "in the toilets" at the time during the awards ceremony, to which the Harry Potter star replied: "I saw it, I’m just so already dramatically bored of hearing people’s opinions about it, that I just don’t want to be another opinion added to it."

"You don’t even want to hear yourself," Susanna replied to which Daniel responded: "No, no, not at all." There were no awkward moments, however, as the presenter, 51, went on to speak about her own experience of awards ceremonies where celebrities' reactions are caught on camera leading to Daniel to laugh about his own.

But Good Morning Britain viewers were quick to comment on the exchange and applauded Daniel for giving an honest answer. @hooray_k tweeted: "#GMB #GoodMorningBritain Well done Daniel for saying bored of #WillSmith drama. Dragging on."

"#GMB Good on Daniel Radcliffe for not answering about Will Smith. Other celebrities have jump on the bandwagon. Their own pass are coming back to haunt them and they've done way worse. @GMB In few weeks everyone will love Will Smith again," @Kellyfree12 shared.

@TheIntoxicatedJ commented: "Thank goodness for Daniel saying what everyone is thinking that he is bored of hearing about it #GMB."
