GMB viewers have slammed Kate Garraway, dubbing her 'biased' after she questioned one of the many people protesting at the coronation over the weekend.
Some viewers were even forced to switch off after she and her co-host Ed Balls questioned their guest- Peter Tatchell- on why he decided to protest.
The discussion came following the news that 64 people had been arrested at the monumental event.
The discussion began as Peter told of his disappointment, telling the hosts he was "angry at police behaviour" reports the Express.
He said: "In the weeks prior, republic had negotiated with the police and secured an agreement that a protest could take place.
"But on the day, before the protest had even began, the six key organisers of the republic were all arrested on fake charges by the police, and several hundred people who were trying to go to the square were blocked."
As Peter tried to continue, Kate interrupted: "What were the charges and why were they fake?"
In a later segment, Kate defended the Met police, telling the panel: "Can I just say because the Met Police aren't here, they're sort of damned if they do and damned in they don't, aren't they?
"If they hadn't taken...I appreciate you saying you were never going to use the megaphones, if they had not taken the megaphones and something had gone wrong or if they hadn't been pre-empted, we would have said how hopeless the Met Police were for that."
The interview wasn't welcomed by many GMB viewers, with some taking to social media to share their thoughts.
@tina5661 tweeted: "Had to turn off, you can always rely on GMB to bring you down. Can't listen to Kevin anymore."
@world_wanderer4 shared: "Kate and Ed terribly biased today …shocking." (sic)
While @FlopsyPickle complained: "Wow Kate and Ed are being really impartial this morning, aren’t they? Purposely being argumentative and playing dumb. #gmb #goodmorningbritain." (sic)
@TofuEatingWoker fumed: "Kate Yappaway is just unbearable get her gone #GMB."
"Where is your balanced view? Why just attacking the removal of the protesters? One of the strongest parts of your show is 2 informed people debating with opposite views," @LuciBolt pointed out.@kbaz77 went on to say: "Kate and Ed, shocking bias here! Completely missed the point!! Wow!! Unbelievable."
Stepping in to defend Kate's line of questioning, @dobiemanengl said: "Go Kate Garraway ,,,,,,,, well said, she challenges Peter, and he Gulps Well done Kate!" (sic)
Kate has also taken to Twitter since the debate to hit back out at the criticism.
She wrote: "It’s not justifying - it’s called balancing a debate and putting an argument forward for our guests to respond to which is @edballs & I’s job!!!!" (sic)
