Laura Tobin said Piers Morgan went above and beyond for her when her daughter Charlotte, now five, was in the hospital for three months following her premature birth.
Charlotte was born at 27 weeks in July 2017 and weighed just 2lb 8oz. She had to be kept on oxygen while she was in hospital in what was a traumatic time for Laura and her family.
However, Laura said her colleague Piers was always there for her. Speaking to Express.co.uk, Laura said: “Piers is literally one of the nicest people ever, he’s so kind, he’s a really good friend.

“When my daughter was sick in hospital, he used to message all the time to see how she was doing. He would ask if there was anything he could do if he was in London or if I needed anything.
“As a human being, he is actually really nice.”
Laura, 40, wh o joined GMB in 2014, said Mr Morgan who she worked with for six years, always gave her “the time of day”.
She said: “He would always bring me into any chats, like a couple of years ago when there were the deadly wildfires in Australia where I think a billion animals perished, we had an MP on who was trying to say it wasn’t climate change.
“Piers brought me in and we had this massive argument. Piers will always give me the time of day.”
The incident in question aired in January 2020 when Mr Morgan and Susanna Reid interviewed climate change sceptic, Craig Kelly, who is the leader of the United Australia Party.
It comes as Laura’s book, Everyday Ways To Save The Planet, hit the shelves this week. The book offers simple changes that everyone can make to do their bit for the environment.
On whether she has been in touch with Mr Morgan about her new venture, Laura said: “I had invited him to the book launch, and he texted back that evening saying that he couldn’t come because he is in LA.
“But he said that he would love to see a copy and that he’s happy to do anything to help. He is really chuffed for me, he has always been a big champion of mine.”
Following her book’s release, Laura hopes "everybody will stop and think about what we do, how we live our lives and how over-consuming we are because of habit.
“Just go through the book in whatever order you want and see what changes you can make - Whether that’s changing our diets, walking more, insulating our homes or lowering our thermostats. If you just do one a week or once every day, the more you start doing then the more you will want to do.”
