Good Morning Britain was forced to cut to ad break after an interview surrounding cancel culture became out of control.
The theme of the debate asked by hosts Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard was: "Cancel culture: Forgive and forget?" which welcomed Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu and Leo Kearse.
Both participants held strong opinions on the subject, regardless the debate remained calm in the beginning, the Express reports.
But things took a sharp turn when the guests began shouting over one another, eventually turning into a full-on row.
Hosts Ben and Kate were forced to step in early and end the debate.
Leo began: “I’ve had shows cancelled, my venue cancelled me at the Australian Fringe.
“Most of the time I think it’s a misunderstanding on the part of the people doing the cancelling.
“Also people are getting cancelled for tweets they sent 12 years ago and people change, people move on.
“But also society changes. The things that are acceptable dos ay n society change.
“You see that with people like JK Rowling, a few years ago, she was the darling of the woke left and now she is this pariah.
“People need to understand if we are cancelling people for things they said 12 years ago because society changes and what people say changes, what are people saying now that’s going to be unacceptable in 12 years?”
Kate later went on to ask Dr Shola: “Is there an argument to say part of growing up and growing older is that your views get informed and they change?
“Something that you said in the past, now we have social media where things get written down and shared so widely may not represent you now, so therefore you should be forgiven for holding those views if you changed your mind?”
Dr Shola replied: “Well that me first of all say that expressions of hate are not a product of any given time, they are past, present and future and continuous manifestations of hate, which is why people exist today.
“People who partake of them in them in any form are reinforcing their hate. Good people are capable of doing bad things and bad people are capable of doing good things, that is called being human.
“Forgiveness is good but forgiveness does not absolve you of consequences. Consequences are a direct result of your actions.
“Let me tell you who suffers the real consequences. The person who suffers the real consequences is the person who was targeted by that remark or that action.
“Let’s just think this through, why is it so difficult for people to accept in life consequences are actually a fact of life, its not cancellation.”
Leo and Dr Shola began to argue with one another to the point where it was impossible for viewers to understand what either guests were saying.
It was so heated that Ben and Kate tried repeatedly to step in and finish the debate.
Kate eventually was forced to shout: "We're going to have to take this off-air."
Ben added: “Unfortunately Dr Shola and Leo, we are out of time. We have strict break restrictions at this stage but thank you very much for your thoughts this morning, it’s clearly a very emotive subject.”
Viewers quickly shared their shock and reaction to the debate on Twitter.
One user noted how out-of-control the debate was, posting: "Why do people have to shout over each other?! Makes me want to throw stuff at the tv. We can’t wait understand either point, so just shut up and wait your turn.
“But Ben and Kate just sat back and let them do it, when it’s their job to control an interview #gmb #goodmorningbritain.”
Another poster criticised GMB for their guest-vetting process.
@ThatGeordie1 added: “@GMB you need to vet your guest bookings, completely unacceptable. First Quentin Letts and now this Leo guy, wtf is wrong with people. Well done @SholaMos1 Speechless. #GMB.”
Ebony Michelle asked: “Wait what happened did they just cut them off #gmb.”
