Emmerdale viewers shared their frustration at the result of Callum's hostage situation.
Weeks ago Callum kidnapped Leyla after attacking Suzy with a brick and leaving her for dead. The girls had exposed his drug dealing crimes to the police recently after he accidentally stabbed Leyla's son Jacob earlier this year.
The pair planned to report his continued bad deeds to the police but after he caught wind of what was about to go down, he decided to put a stop to things directly. He sought out the girls which led to a violent confrontation with Suzy escaping and Leyla being held hostage.

After police were called, a vicious armed standoff took place before Callum was eventually strong-handed into surrendering. In tonight's episode, Leyla received a phone call informing her of the police's decision.
With a defeated breath, she said: "They've released Callum on bail." Leyla was shocked at the conclusion where viewers who branded the writing as "fantasy."
Discussing the outcome, one viewer said: "Kidnapped people...held them hostage with a gun....let out on bail....yeah right! Another added: "So they released a man who was caught holding 3 people hostage with a gun and let him out on bail?!? Absolute nonsense!"
A third frustrated viewer said: "Released on bail after holding people hostage and having a handgun? F*** off." While a final added: "Has a firearm, Kidnapping and holding someone hostage, gets let out on bail? Yeah that wouldn’t ever happen in real life. Do these writers live in fantasy world."
Defeated by the news, Leyla shrunk into herself and refused to go into the village for fear of another confrontation.
