ITV Emmerdale viewers praise soap after being left in 'disgust'

Emmerdale viewers have been praising the soap despite being left in 'disgust' over its latest storyline. During Thursday night's hour-long trip to the Dales, fans watched Ethan Anderson finally made to decision to stop representing his client, Jordan.

The character was introduced into the soap last month when Billy Fletcher was subject to a racist attack. He had been out with his father-in-law Will Taylor when he ended up in hospital. Laid up in a bed battered and bruised, Billy told his wife, Dawn, that he had been racially attacked, completely unaware that Ethan was defending the attacker at the police station.

Billy has since shared his disdain at Ethan representing his vile attacker and after a few weeks of battling between his heart and his career, Jordan showing up in the village and intimidating Billy was the final straw and Ethan decided he was pulling out of the case.

He sat down the Jordan and his wife at the lawyer's office and told him he'd no longer be presenting him. And Courtney was unimpressed and shared her shame over being linked to a racist, leading to her storming out of the office. Later, as he made his way home, Ethan was approached by Jordan in an underpass.

He confronted Ethan, but his racially-charged outburst ended up being too much for him to accept and the legal expert called him out exactly for what he is. And just like in Billy's situation, Jordan's response was to aggressively throw Ethan to the floor and begin beating him.

Ethan was left barely conscious and bleeding on the floor when Billy managed to find them and begged Jordan to let him phone an ambulance. But the pair's vile attacker demanded Billy retract his statement which would let him off the hook. Luckily, Billy managed to keep Jordan distracted long enough until the police arrived and arrested him while Ethan was treated by paramedics.

Emmerdale fans have since been reacting to the scenes. @ phoenixdesire5 said: " Brilliant acting. Well done Emmerdale for drawing attention to this subject." @deedeearron wrote: "Well done Emmerdale hope he gets a long sentence for what he’s done Hope this episode sends out the message that this will not be tolerated."

@michaelcarr697 The fact that this actually happens in real life disgusts me. Great job by everyone in this story." @lydiaalty added: "Played extremely well on a super sensitive topic and episode."
