ITV Emmerdale viewers make plea to Amelia as they beg soap bosses to change harrowing storyline

Emmerdale viewers have predicted a harrowing storyline for one of the show's most popular characters - and it has caused a huge amount of concern.

Earlier this week, the ITV soap aired scenes in which David, Leyla and Chloe were seen chortling over a video on their phones. They were watching a clip of Dan exercising in bright clothing and "tiny" shorts.

Amelia, who is the daughter of Daz and Ali Spencer, is also in the clip and when she walked into the shop, the trio fell silent. Chloe showed Amelia the video before revealing she had sent the video on to Kerry.

Amelia then rushed over to the salon and begged Kerry to delete the video - not knowing that Kerry had already uploaded it from her phone to social media. Kerry's concern was that Amelia would be embarrassed if Dan saw it - but fans think there is a darker storyline in the making with Amelia later looking at her reflection in the mirror.

With fans fearing an eating disorder storyline on the cards, they began tweeting with many urging Emmerdale bosses not to go down that route. They also sent messages of support encouraging Amelia that there is nothing wrong with her.

@penniless_poet also urged bosses to change their predicted plan of attack as she tweeted: "Don't tell me they're going to make Amelia anorexic/bulimic now? Ffs #Emmerdale."

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV One.
