Emmerdale star Matthew Wolfenden has been defended by fans from the 'parent police' after sharing a snap of his son. The actor, who is known for playing David Metcalfe in the ITV soap, took to Instagram to share a picture of his youngest son, Ace, who appears to be in the potty training stage.
The black and white image showed the toddler standing on the kitchen counter with just a long hoodie on as he weed into the spotless kitchen's sink. "Ace: Dad I need a wee. Dad: Well go then. Ace does…" Matthew catpioned the post.
He then added in the form of hashtags, 'not exactly what I meant', 'potty training boys', and 'going well'. And while many were quick to see the amusing side, others weren't impressed leading to fans to defend the soap star, who shares his three children with former co-star wife Charley Webb.

@sambailey86 said: "Here come all the perfect parents. Could have been worse could have needed a," before adding a poo emoji. @jomclen commented: "Haha at least he has the excuse of being a kid! Not like fully grown men haven’t drunkenly peed in a sink in their time or better still opened a wardrobe thinking it was the lav! Anyways nothing that a bit of bleach or fabulosa won’t solve! It’ll be right!"
@vicki___xx replied: "These comments from some people. Your parents/grandparents didn’t bath you in the kitchen sink, and it shows." @lisajoann23 posted: "Jesus christ people need to chill out!" @lstanley29 laughed: "That's 3rd child....they are feral My 3rd definitely was!!" @ge0rgie_2476 added: "Mother of 4 boys here and oh this made me laugh.... typical boy behaviour and lets face it they dont grow out of it they may just move onto a wardrobe or bath."
As well as Ace, Matthew and Charley share two elder sons, Buster and Bowie. The couple tied the knot in a secret castle wedding back in 2018. The pair met on the set of Emmerdale in 2007 when love blossomed. Previously reminiscing over their big day, Charley recalled how they didn't even tell guests they were getting married.
They thought that they were attending Charley's 30th birthday party only to be surprised by the nuptials. Sharing a gorgeous image of the pair on Instagram, Charley told her followers: "We've been looking at our wedding pictures today. I still love that no one knew and they all just thought it was my 30th birthday party. It was the best ever."
