ITV Emmerdale star Martelle Edinborough flooded with support as she's seen in hospital bed after revealing brain aneurysm

Emmerdale star Martelle Edinborough has been flooded with support after she revealed she'd had an operation for a brain aneurysm.

She heaped praise on NHS staff who have been looking after her. The actress, who plays Suzy Merton in the ITV soap, took to Twitter to share her health issues.

"A few weeks ago I was told an existing brain aneurysm thought to always be tiny & stable had in fact always been of a size that needed treatment," Martelle, who first appeared in the Dales last March, posted on Twitter on Wednesday (April 19).

She added: "Not sure where the error occurred for it to take so long to highlight this but despite the initial shock, I could only receive it as a blessing & refused to allow it manifest into fear, stress & anxiety."
