ITV Emmerdale spot issue as Jacob rejects and blames Leyla after stabbing ordeal

Emmerdale fans think they have spotted an issue as Jacob Gallagher blamed his mum, Leyla Cavanagh, for his near-death stabbing ordeal. Viewers of the ITV soap were horrified last week when the teen was impaled with a kitchen knife, belonging to Leyla, by drug dealer Callum.

Jacob had left his mum in a rage, locking her in her bedroom, after discovering she had been to see Callum to score drugs. Last year, Leyla went to rehab but after being rejected by her husband Liam Cavanagh and prompted to sign divorce papers, the wedding planner almost broke her sobriety by scoring.

While she didn't take any of the drugs, she was caught with them by Jacob who lost it. After locking her in her room, he faked a text from Leyla's phone to Callum and put a kitchen knife in his pocket. After confronting the drug dealer, Jacob pulled out the knife and threatened him.

However, a tussle broke out and it was Jacob who ended up being stabbed and left all night to die until he was found by Leyla and David Metcalfe. Since then, Leyla has been blamed for Jacob's near-death experience and David told her to leave.

But desperate to see her son, Leyla headed to the hospital after Jacob was visited the police, defying David's warning. Asked what he’d said to the police, Jacob said he stuck to the story that someone he didn’t know attacked him and Leyla was visibly relieved.

But Jacob wasn't happy and told his mum that he wouldn’t be in hospital at all if she hadn’t been scoring drugs again. "You’re still a junkie and you’ve got no self control," he told her.

Jacob later added: "Do not tell me you’re sorry again, it’s all you ever say," before he told her to leave. "I’m ashamed of you, and I guess I always will be now."

But taking to social media, Emmerdale viewers couldn't help but spot someone missing from the scenes - Jacob's 'other mum' Alicia. @DionPetrie asked: "Have they phoned Jacobs' other mum #Emmerdale." @s6floozy echoed: "#Emmerdale How come 'step dad' David and 'biological Mum' Layla never contact the Mum Alicia, who actually brought Jacob up as her own?"

@Perrie84318204 added: "Now I know she wasn’t his biological mum. But Alicia literally raised Jacob from a baby and was believed to be his mum. Why is no one telling her about him being stabbed, or has she been forgotten about completely and no long exists? #emmerdale."
