The FIFA World Cup is here but once again it presents issues for fans of soaps - particularly Yorkshire favourite Emmerdale.
As we’ve previously reported, ITV’s shared coverage of the men’s World Cup means fans of Emmerdale and rival Coronation Street will experience disruption to their enjoyment of the soaps. As fans know, Emmerdale usually airs weekdays for 30 minutes from 7.30pm, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays, while Coronation Street usually airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV at 8pm each week.
However, on Monday, November 21, neither soap will air as ITV will instead be broadcasting the USA vs Wales game - with coverage beginning at 6.05pm. On Tuesday, November 22, there will be an hour-long episode of Emmerdale from 7pm.

On Wednesday, November 23, Emmerdale will air another hour episode at 7pm. Coronation Street will then air after that in its usual slot at 8pm in its first episode of the week for an hour-long episode.
On Thursday, November 24, fans will see Emmerdale air for an hour at 7pm, followed by Coronation Street, which will be broadcast at 8pm for an hour. On Friday, November 25, there will be no soaps as ITV is broadcasting the England vs USA game from 6.05pm.

Over on the BBC, fans of EastEnders will also face disruption this week. Both broadcasters will be showing knock out games later in the World Cup meaning more disruption will be coming for soap fans.
