Emmerdale actor Mark Charnock sent out a heartfelt message to fans following emotional scenes with his character Marlon Dingle.
In scenes that aired in March, Marlon was hit with symptoms of a stroke as he saw his face seizing up in the mirror. He collapsed before being rushed to hospital.
After regaining consciousness, it was confirmed that Marlon had lost the use of his speech, as he was seen struggling to pronounce easy words.

Over the past few weeks, viewers have watched Marlon's struggles as he recovers in hospital. The distressing scenes have been praised by fans, with many complimenting Mark's acting.
Responding to the kind messages, Mark tweeted: "Proper heartfelt thanks to everyone for their kind words over the last few nights of #Emmerdale. One of the most positive aspects of it all is seeing people bravely sharing their very moving personal stories about strokes and supporting each other. You’re all amazing and inspiring."
Replying to his tweet, one viewer, Paul, said: "Beautifully acted Mark. It is very easy to knock or dismiss soaps, but indeed they deal with real issues head-on.
"Your work and the work of other cast members have been fantastic, and show just what great actors you guys are."
Graeme tweeted: "Mark, you should win every single TV, soap and acting award, for the heart-rending portrayal of Marlon following his stroke. By far the best and most inspired piece of acting I have ever seen on TV, I was moved to tears.."
And Anita said: "You really are playing a great part here. Sometimes not an easy watch, as it brings back some memories."
