Former Emmerdale star Charley Webb has shown her support for Love Island contestant Gemma Owen. The actress, who played Debbie Dingle in the ITV soap, has proved she's one of us by joining millions in tuning in to the ITV2 dating show which is days away from ending for another year.
She took to her Instagram Story during the latest episode which aired on Tuesday night (July 26). At the end the episode, it was revealed that Danica and Jamie, Dami and Indiyah, and Adam and Paige were voted as the public’s least favourite couples and were therefore vulnerable to being sent home.
However, who will be booted from the villa will be shown during Wednesday’s installment after the revelation was left on a cliffhanger. The episode also saw the islanders take part in a ‘Mile High’-themed challenge. Dressed as cabin crew, the girls prepared the boys for departure, giving them a full safety briefing and offering refreshments before joining their chosen passenger for a private ‘Mile High Club’ moment.

However, the flirtatious antics of the challenge caused some friction between Gemma Owen and Luca Bish. Luca, 23, appeared to get irritated that his partner, 19-year-old Gemm, was getting up close and personal with the other boys during the challenge when she licked their necks.
Afterwards, Gemma talked to the girls about the situation and said that she had just acted in the “heat of the moment” and that she did not want to hear him sulking about the situation. They later confronted each other where Luca admitted that he had not liked seeing her get flirtatious with the other male islanders but added that it was a challenge so he could not “stay annoyed” at her.
This frustrated Gemma further as she countered that he had previously said he “wasn’t in a mood”, which caused Luca to remove his microphone and walk out of the villa. The couple later readdressed the situation on the terrace where they continued to have differences of opinion on whether the behaviour was acceptable because it was in a challenge.
Tensions were raised as Luca said: “I don’t want to be in a relationship where we’re having these stupid chats” to which Gemma replied: “Nor do I.” He then asked if she still wanted to be in a relationship with him to which she agreed she did but the situation appeared unresolved as she walked off.
Charley shared a snap of her TV screen showing Gemma, who is the daughter of former footballer Michael Owen, in the Mallorcan villa. "I can't quite believe I'm doing this but a Love Island discussion needs to happen."
Referring to the dressage rider and bikini business owner, the soap star added: "She is way too mature and cool for this s**t. I literally love Gemma." She then added a poll which asked: "Is Luca too much?" with two answers: "100%" or "Nah". She is yet to share what her followers thought on the matter.
But it appears she wasn't alone as Love Island viewers have also shared their anger at the situation between Gemma and fishmonger Luca. @Dawn15855398 tweeted: "Very sad Gemma has wasted her whole love island experience on Luca #LoveIsland." @bittersweetem wrote: "WHO ON THIS PLANET IS VOTING FOR GEMMA AND LUCA I HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF THIS MANS JOKER MOMENTS #LoveIsland."
