Actress Martelle Edinborough has had people completely hooked since joining the cast of Emmerdale as Suzy Merton. The woman behind the character was delighted to join the long-running West Yorkshire-based ITV soap as she is originally from Bradford.
But what viewers may not realise is that it's not her first time on the show - she first played a doctor on the programme in 2018. Martelle is also linked to a number of co-stars away from the village.
She has previously worked with long-time Emmerdale star Dominic Brunt, who plays local vet Paddy Kirk, starring in a horror film he directed called Evie, which came out last year.

Martelle has also appeared repeatedly in another long-running ITV show - Coronation Street - where she appeared in different episodes between 2018 and 2021.
Her first appearance was as a court clerk who officiated in the trial of Anna Windass after she was charged of wounding Seb Franklin with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
She then played Jasmine Ridgeway in the soap in 2019 and was back again in 2021 for four episodes as Alison Wray, a police family liaison officer who dealt with Abi Franklin after her son Seb was murdered.
Martelle also starred as Amina Sewak in a 2019 episode of the TV series Cold Feet - also set in Manchester. She played a character named Francesca in the 2020 short The Tooth Fairy and has graced Chester based soap Hollyoaks.
Despite her impressive back catalogue, Martelle told Leeds Live she is still more than a little bit star struck on the Emmerdale set, saying: “I was in the same scene as Claire King and I got a bit star-struck. I didn’t make a fuss, I held it in. But I rang my mum afterwards and said ‘I was on set with Kim Tate today’.”
Martelle attended the same school as Emmerdale actress Karen Blick and is a fan of co-stars Roxy Shahidi and Jonny McPherson.
“The funniest member of the cast by far is Roxy Shahidi," she said. "She is hilarious. Roxy is a whirlwind of high and positive energy. Jonny McPherson is the person who I think is least like their character. Liam can come across as a bit boring but Jonny is not boring at all.”
Speaking to Digital Spy when she joined Emmerdale, Martelle described how much she was enjoying it. “My feet haven't quite touched the ground yet, I'm still on this massive cloud high up in the sky, but it's been going really, really good.”
"It's just like a family, and it sounds so cliché but it really is and everyone is so lovely and welcoming and helps you settle in really nicely."
