Emmerdale star Mark Charnock has shared a sweet message with one of the soap's cast members after her last scenes aired on the ITV soap. It was an emotional day in the Dales on Monday (April 25) was Marlon Dingle was able to return home from hospital.
There was shock and tears last month when the beloved character suffered a stroke. It was an exciting time for Marlon and partner Rhona as the pair had both planned to propose. After both getting down on one knee in The Woolpack, their excitement soon turned to horror when a giddy Marlon rushed home to pick up Rhoan's engagement ring which he had accidentally forgotten.
As he rustled around for the sparkler, Marlon's frightening health battle began when he realised something was wrong as his vision became blurred, before he looked in the mirror and realised his face had drooped on one side and he was unable to speak despite desperately running through his thoughts in his own head.

He was then found collapsed on the floor by his terrified young daughter April before he was rushed to the hospital where nurses confirmed he suffered a stroke and needed to undergo emergency surgery to remove the blood clot on the left side of his brain.
Emmerdale fans have since watched as Marlon's journey to recovery began, seeing the impact the challenge not only has on the chef but on his family, including Rhona, April, and best mate Paddy Dingle.
And throughout the weeks, viewers have seen nurse Gail Hancock helping Marlon during his hospital stay. Fans were even making demands for her to be made a permanent character. But sadly Gail said her goodbyes to her patient as he was excitedly taken home by his fiance Rhona.
Actress Elizabeth Boag has also confirmed that it was the end of Emmerdale journey and shared a message about her time in the Dales. She tweeted: "Bye Gail! Thank you @markcharnock, @ZoeHenry03, all the cast, crew and casting team @emmerdale. Loved every minute!"
Bolton-born actor Mark, who has starred in the ITV soap as Marlon since 1996, was quick to reply, writing: "You were wonderful in the part, Liz! Just superb xx".
But fans were also gutted. @News4Emmerdale said: "Noooo best nurse they've had in years. She wasn't a murderer #emmerdale."
@JonMDexter said: "Isn’t the local doctors needing a new nurse after theirs went to prison?. Let’s have Gail as a regular."
"Make Liz a regular as Gail. Fantastic acting. The continuity of character and the attention to detail surpasses most TV and film," @SimoneHealey shared.
@reddevil1975 replied: "You were like a breath of fresh air I'm gutted you are gone ...We need you back asap."
"I thought you were brilliant and very realistic and I hope they can bring you back into the fold somehow," @cliffbigg06 added.
