Jonny McPherson is one of the most renowned figures on Emmerdale.
The 41-year-old actor first arrived on the long-running soap in 2014. The village doctor became a major character in 2018 and has since been embroiled in some of the show's biggest storylines.
His daughter, Leanna, was the first victim to be killed by the villainous Meena Jutla before she began her reign of terror. Liam has since played a major role in the soap after Paddy Kirk spiralled into a depression.

The character confessed he had previously suffered with dark thoughts of taking his own life in the Woolpack lock-in episode. He has since been a beacon of support for Paddy and said the vet could move in with him in episodes that aired this week.
Away from the screen, the soap star also enjoys a close relationship with his fellow cast-members and was previously dating co-star Natalie J. Robb, who plays Moira Dingle on the ITV soap.
Jonny revealed their relationship moved at a rapid pace as they started living together during the coronavirus lockdown. He told Mirror Online: "We had to make a decision as lots of couples did.
"We decided to move in together and so, yes, lockdown did fast forward our relationship." Jonny swooned over their relationship as he added: "We get on so well. We come from quite different backgrounds but we are essentially the same person."
However, the two soap stars have since parted ways as Jonny told Lorraine Kelly on her ITV chat show how he now lives on a boat with his dog, Molly.
Lorraine joked: "She's perfect. You don't need a woman in your life, because you've already got one." Jonny heaped praise on his alternative lifestyle as he explained: "[You've got] everything you need. After living on it for about four years, I now feel that if I go to a normal house: 'What do you do with all this space? There's so much.'"
"The beautiful thing about living on a boat is that if you get annoyed with your neighbours, you can cast off and chug down the way."
However, Jonny did also share how his unexpected home does come with some pitfalls. He said: "I suppose it's the constant low level anxiety. When you've got a permanent mooring, it's fine because you've got everything on tap.
"But when you're chugging about, you've got this low level anxiety of, 'how much water have I got left? Okay, I've got one shower and a couple of pots of tea. And then I've got enough electricity to last me half a day, so I've got to get to the next services but I haven't got time."
