Emmerdale fans were gobsmacked last week when they finally got a glimpse of a very rarely seen character. They couldn't believe it as Eve, the daughter of Chas and Paddy Dingle appeared in the Hop as Chas met with Al Champman, who she has been having an affair with for months.
In the episode of the ITV soap, Eve could be seen sat colouring in a picture as her mum popped to the café bar to cosy up with secret fling Al. But it was her age that took viewers by surprise as the last time they saw the young character was when she was just a baby but soon realised she is not far off her third birthday.
However, Eve was back at the centre of Emmerdale fans' attention again on Wednesday night (September 14) as the soap returned to screens. Chas, played by Lucy Pargeter, had returned home following her latest illicit rendezvous with Al in a cottage far away from the village.

Chas had lied about her whereabouts, saying her car had broken down while on her was to join husband Paddy Kirk at his work conference, claiming it forced her to stay the night in a B&B with baby Eve. At home, her mum Faith wanted to know all the details of her night as Chas proceeded to lie.
But her brother Cain, a mechanic, was quizzing her on what was wrong with the car and why she didn't just call him to help. She gave her excuses and threw him off the scent. Then later, Chas was seen apparently speaking to baby Eve in a pram as she repeated the story, with Eve heard making gurgling noises from the pram.
However, Emmerdale viewers were quick to flock to social media and point out that Eve is supposed to be a toddler on the verge of talking - not a newborn. @ItsNotBetty_ fumed: "Last week Eve was sitting up in a chair drawing pictures looking about 2. Now she's reverted back to a babbling 8 month old. Make up your mind #emmerdale."
@kellymew_ commented: "Eve was a two year old running around last week, now she’s back in a pushchair talking baby language #Emmerdale." @aaron_dingles shared: "Eve is 3, why have they got her sat in her pram sounding like a baby #Emmerdale." @DionPetrie asked: "Why does Eve sound like a little baby she’s nearly 3 #Emmerdale."
@sparkysue penned: "I’d be worried about 3 year old toddler Eve in #Emmerdale, she sounds like a baby and sits perfectly still in a pushchair!! My 2 year 3 month old granddaughter wouldn’t sit in the pushchair and would be making sense with her speech!"
But some think this could end up being how Al and Chas' affair is exposed. @penniless_poet tweeted: "Is Chas for real trying to get baby Eve to back her up in her lie? Seriously? 'Lie to daddy for me' #Emmerdale." @RyanGSoapKing11 predicted: "I'm all here for Eve's first word to be Al - what a great way to expose the affair. #Emmerdale." @JordanPhelps21 added: "I actually hope Eve grasses Chas up #Emmerdale."
