Emmerdale fans think they have rumbled a twist involving Kerry Wyatt after she discovered her fiance Al Chapman dead. The character, played by Laura Norton in the ITV soap, was horrified to find the shady businessman lying lifeless in a barn having been shot, with a panicked Cain Dingle stood nearby cleaning prints off a shotgun.
Al, played by Michael Wildman was found dead by Kerry following a final confrontation with long-standing enemy Cain. The Dingle bad boy had lured Al to a barn after discovering his affair with his sister, Chas. The Emmerdale favourite faced Al with a shotgun before a fight broke out between the pair.
The end of Monday night's episode saw a struggle between Al and Cain for the gun before a shot rang out. And during Tuesday night's trip to the Dales (November 1), it was revealed that Al was the one who was fatally shot. As he appeared to be trying to cover up the crime, Cain was caught by Kerry who had heard the shot while walking nearby with Chloe Harris who she was trying to convince to stay in the village after revealing she is her real mum.
And she was shocked to find her partner dead on the ground before Cain fled the scene. Before he ran, he told her: "It's not what it looks like," as Kerry screamed at daughter Chloe to call the police and an ambulance. Cain was then frantically seen at home waiting for the police to arrive and saying his goodbyes to his wife Moira and his young kids, before armed police descended on the house and arrested him on suspicion of murder.
He was later charged after Kerry gave the police a damning statement about what she saw before detailing Al and Cain's feud, which appeared to come to an end after Al saved Cain's life earlier this year. And while some Emmerdale fans are fearing the end of Cain, others think he could worm his way out prison - by framing Kerry.
The theory comes as fans know actress Laura has recently welcomed her second child, a little girl, with her former co-star partner Mark Jordon and while she's pregnant in current scenes, she'll need writing out at some point.
@ChloeLouise_3 tweeted: "Kerry with get framed.. she has motive to kill once it comes out about the affair #emmerdale." @coxyhockeychick wrote: "Try and frame kerry? Say She found out bout Al and Chas?? ..... as she needs to leave soon #Emmerdale or is the prison gonna be a daily occurrence lol."
@Abbeyleighsmith echoed: "The actress who plays Kerry just had a baby so her characters departure is soon so this will play into that. Don’t think Cain will end up in prison.. #Emmerdale." @michellermreid added: "Cain is gonna pin the blame on Kerry saying she found out about Al cheating and she will be arrested and sent down paving way for her exit storyline/maternity leave. No way Jeff is been axed or leaving the soap. #emmerdale."
Meanwhile, other Emmerdale fans were fuming with Kerry as she spoke to the police about Cain, with viewers knowing she was responsible for the death of Frank Clayon, the dad of Vanessa and Tracy. Kerry and daughter Amy inadvertently started a fire at Sharma & Sharma chocolate factory after destroying the factory's CCTV system to cover up the fact Kerry stole charity money from the safe.
@laineybumbainey said: "The neck of Kerry - does she forget she killed someone too." @lorai58 wrote: "I think Kerry had a cheek and has forgotten about Frank. I'm hoping there is a twist because would be so gutted if Cain ended up in prison." @MisTintehotbabe tweeted: "I’m sorry but have @emmerdale forgotten that Amy and Kerry both killed Frank or do they just get a pass like wtf is this bulls**t #Emmerdale."
@SarahRobron posted: "Can I just shout it louder….KERRY WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR FRANK’S DEATH. She might have forgotten, the writers may have forgotten but we haven’t. #Emmerdale." @GinaLouLoves typed: "So Kerry saying she will make sure cain pays when she and Amy haven’t paid for killing frank means she’s a hypocrite #Emmerdale." @shanilouise2012 added: "Kerry killed frank & she has the audacity to do this to Cain not even knowing the story!!! Emmerdale get rid of her. She is getting absolutely ridiculous!! The fact her killing Frank has not come up is absurd!!!!! #emmerdale."
