ITV Emmerdale fans remind Moira of her own past as she flees the village after admission to Cain

It's fair to say Emmerdale fans don't forget and they were quick to remind Moira Dingle of her own past as she paid a visit to her husband, Cain, in prison. It has become clear to viewers of the ITV soap that the character is struggling with hiding the truth about Al Chapman's death.

She was horrified earlier this month when Cain was arrested for the businessman's murder but is unaware Cain lured him to the barn in the first place after discovering Al's affair with his sister, Chas. But after pleading guilty to murder, Cain admitted to wife Moira that he didn't kill Al - and that it was his son Kyle.

Last week, flashback scenes showed the moment the 10-year-old, played by Huey Quinn, shot Al. Kyle and Cain both relived the events of that day, with Cain telling a distressed Moira, played by Natalie J Robb, while Kyle, back at home, confessed to his mum Amy, portrayed by Natalie Ann Jamieson.

Since then, the pair have desperately tried to keep themselves, and Kyle, from sharing the truth and last week, Moira told brother Mackenzie was really happened and Amy did a runner with her son. But during the latest trip to the Dales on Monday night (November 14), Moira made a big decision.

Visiting Cain in prison, she admitted that being married to someone who is in prison for a crime they didn't commit is worse than being married to someone who is actually a murderer. She later wondered if she was cut out for a life without Cain and said Amy did the right thing by getting out of the village.

And when she got back to the farm, Moira came close to admitting to her son Matty what had been going on until he announced that Amy had gone to Belfast with Kyle. Later, Moira then surprised Mack by announcing she too would leaving the village along with her son Isaac to join Amy and Kyle in Northern Ireland.

But while the sudden exit came as a surprise, other Emmerdale fans were too focused on pointing out that Moira isn't a saint and that she herself is responsible for someone's death, and that her son is still covering for her.

@DionPetrie tweeted: "Has Moira forgot she’s a murderer and her son is on the run after taking the blame? #Emmerdale." @itzzzo_ commented: "Moira forgetting that Cain is married to a murderer? #Emmerdale." @cauccu1 asked: "Is Moira forgetting what Adam did for her #Emmerdale."

Moira killed Emma Barton back in 2017 and let her son Adam, played by Adam Thomas, take the blame. Months after her death was revealed that Moira pushed Emma off a viaduct which resulted in her death - after Emma admitted to killing Moira's borther-in-law James, who was actually Adam's father following a one-night stand between the pair.

Adam then made a false confession to keep his mother out of prison but he later fled the country after Cain and Aaron Dingle broke him out of a prison van.
