ITV Emmerdale fans go crazy as serial killer Meena Jutla 'returns' in new snap

A trio of Emmerdale stars were dubbed 'triple trouble' as they came back together for an off-screen reunion. And fans of the ITV soap went crazy to see that serial killer Meena Jutla invited - or should we say actress Paige Sandhu.

The former soap star headed out for a catch-up meal with Rebecca Sarker, who still appears in the soap as sister Manpreet Sharma, and Fiona Wade who recently left the Dales behind as her character after 11 years as her character Priya Sharma headed to start a new life in London.

The group were seen around a table as they posed for a snap posted to Rebecca's Instagram account. "The perfect 'pick-me-up' #tiramisu #friends," she captioned the smiling image which was soon being flooded with comments.

Meena star Paige left Emmerdale almost a year ago, in April 2022 after two years in the soap. The character caused havoc for much of that time but Meena Jutla's fate was officially sealed in nail-biting scenes. The nurse turned serial killer had her last hoorah as she finally faced her punishment for the deaths of Leanna Cavanagh, Andrea Tate, and Ben Tucker. It came after dramatic scenes on the ITV soap when Meena's murder trial turned into a siege.

Following the horror of the guilty verdicts, the victim's families chose not to attend the sentencing, adding to Meena's distress as she once again wanted an audience, as well as thinking she'd still be getting away with murder. "Wait, they're not here yet. My sister should be here," she the judge was about to get underway.

Her request to wait wasn't heeded to and he went on to declare: "Meena Jutla you have been convicted by the jury for the murders of Leanna Cavanagh, Andrea Tate and Ben Tucker. Your intention was to kill and you were successful. You killed each of them in the most unexpected and frightful ways. I must now sentence you for these murders.

"Leanna Cavanagh, Andrea Tate and Ben Tucker were blameless victims, they simply had the misfortune to get in your way. A beloved daughter, a beloved mother and a beloved son, needlessly killed by you. I have seen no genuine remorse from you, you are a manipulative person, who has told many lies, and shifted the blame to try and save your own skin."

Delivering the outcome just as Meena's sister Manpreet Sharma walked into the courtroom, the judge told Meena that she had been sentenced to life, a minimum of 25 years, for each murder leading to an overall sentence of 75 years in prison. "You will remain in custody for the rest of your life," the judge added as Meena began to freak out.
