Emmerdale fans think they may have figured out exactly what Caleb Miligan's link to the village is as they continue to desperately try and figure out his secret. The character, played by William Ash, made his first appearance in the ITV soap on Christmas day when he paid his half-brother Cain Dingle a visit in prison.
Caleb has since been seen poking his nose into his new-found family's lives, primarily that of Cain's as he helped him get an early release from prison and got his lawyers on the case after it was revealed that Cain and Amy Wyatt's son, Kyle Winchester, was the one who fatally shot Al Chapman.
But he has since been making an enemy of Will Taylor after he got into business with his wife, Kim Tate. During Wednesday night's trip to the Dales, Will was seen complaining to Amy in The Hide about Caleb after she shared her own gripes about Cain, who had confronted her over seeing their son, Kyle, despite it being against their bail conditions as the 10-year-old waits to find out if he'll be sentenced for Al's death.

After listening to Amy's issues, Will declared both Cain and Caleb, who appear to be backing each other despite Cain's initial reservations, "really get on my pip." Will later got into a confrontation with Cain when, while looking after Kyle for Amy, he told the youngster's dad he couldn't come near him under Amy's orders.
Cain was encouraged by Caleb to make amends, but it didn't go to plan. Then, during Thursday night's trip to the Dales, Will was once again fuming with the brothers with Caleb arriving at Home Farm unannounced before Cain snuck in for some revenge and let new horse, Apollo, loose into the village.
With Will struggling to get any control over the horse, Caleb and Sam swooped in to save the day. Later, as Will laments over how he got everything so wrong, he appeared to patch things up with Caleb and apologise to Sam for his earlier outburst at him. But when Will found out that it was Cain who let the horse free, all hell broke loose and a scrap unravelled in The Woolpack.
After leaving the pub, Caleb tried to talk Cain down but Cain turned on his brother and started questioning Caleb's involvement with Home Farm. As viewers know, Caleb is hiding a secret but Cain was stunned to hear Caleb's intention is to actually take down Kim's manor.
"See I pick my battles, and that way I always win," Caleb told Cain. When Cain asked what that leaves the people at Home Farm with, Caleb told him: "With me taking it all, and leaving them with nothing."
But Emmerdale fans are still trying to figure out what Caleb's problem is and now think he may be connected to former detective, DI Malone, who was killed by Will’s daughter, Dawn, in an act of self-defence. And the late Harriet Finch also had her part to play in covering up the crime with Will later having to enlist Kim's help when Malone's body was almost uncovered.
@spartacus2963 tweeted: "I’m now wondering if Caleb has something to do with or a connection to the missing (now deceased) DI Malone - Cain initially had some dodgy dealings with Malone when he first appeared in the village…#emmerdale." @miss_akaur13 said: "I think caleb is either wills long lost brother or dawns dad or got something to do with DI Malone." @lizzie_edwards added: "#emmerdale I think caleb is dl malone brother who dawn taylor murder not cain dingle brother."
Others, however, still think he could be working for Jamie Tate, Kim's 'missing' son. @AvniDhirr tweeted: "#Emmerdale I'm sure caleb is working with Jamie Tate to bring his mum down or it could be Joe for revenge too. I'm pretty sure a Dingle runt wouldn't have the money to do all he's doing."
@oliviarose18xx said: "My theory is that Caleb is working with either Jamie or Joe Tate to take revenge on Kim #Emmerdale." @Raven_M0rrigan added: "Is Caleb mates with Kim’s son Jamie? Hmmmm #emmerdale."
