ITV Emmerdale fans devastated over twist at end of episode

Emmerdale fans were devastated at the ending of last night's episode, with many saying the twist came as a shock.

Liv was attacked and left for dead by her cellmate while in prison.

The 19-year-old is in prison for Ben's murder, despite it actually being Meena that killed him.

Her ex-boyfriend Vinny has desperately tried to prove Liv's innocence.

But things took a turn for the worst after he was kidnapped by Meena, who held him hostage with Manpreet.

After Vinny escaped relatively unharmed, he visited Liv in prison.

But Liv was furious when Vinny told her that she couldn't be released just yet as the police didn't have enough evidence to clear her name and hadn't caught Meena yet.

After storming out of the visit, Liv was then seen crying in her cell where her cellmate told her to accept that she is locked up in prison.

Not in the mood to talk, Liv told her cellmate to "shut up" and that she "didn't want to talk anymore."

Unimpressed her cellmate then declared that Liv "needed to learn some manners" before closing the door to the cell behind her.

At the end of the episode, Mandy comforted Vinny after he explained what had happened and with Mandy's voiceover, the scene cut to an alarm going off in the prison where officers entered a cell to find an unconscious Liv bloodied and bruised on the floor.

Fans were left gutted by the scenes.

Jamal wrote: "Thought Liv's cellmate was an ok person, what a pasting. Poor Liv."

Tani said: "Crikey I was not expecting that with Liv."

Jordan tweeted: "That scene with Liv on the floor was horrible."
