ITV Emmerdale fans complain after spotting change with Charity

Emmerdale viewers noticed something different about Charity Dingle during Friday's instalment of the long-running ITV soap.

The iconic Dales character is known for being strong, feisty and bold, and she's often involved in cross words and even food fights. Over the years, her schemes have got her into plenty of trouble, and even landed her with a spell in prison.

Friday's episode saw the usually outspoken Charity pining for Mackenzie. The two had split up after he was told she had kissed Vanessa behind his back.

Nothing actually happened between Charity and her ex, but crossed wires led to Mack thinking she had cheated. He dumped Charity, who was left heartbroken.

Viewers saw her moan to son Ryan in the Woolpack as she said she "trashed, smashed and ruined" everything good she had. A devastated-looking Charity said: "The daft thing is I actually really love him."

Fans of the show were taken aback by this "new" Charity. Some said the old Charity had "died".

Taking to Twitter, Sophie The Kidd said: "So Charity has decided she proper loves him? [vomiting gif]". Kirsten said: "Rest in peace Charity Dingle. She isn’t literally dead but her character pretty much is. #Emmerdale"

Carly Whyte said: "Err who is this Charity? Can we have the old one back pls" [sic]. Kate Murray said: "What is going on with Charity?"

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV and the ITV Hub
