ITV Emmerdale fans can't agree over 'best' or 'ridiculous' episode as Chas and Charity's fight spills over

It's safe to say Emmerdale fans were not in agreement when it came to their thoughts on the soap's latest episode.

The ITV favourite was back on screens on Thursday night (March 10) with an hour-long trip to the Dales as part of its new schedule which began at the start of this week.

Viewers watched as Chas and Charity Dingle finally came to blows after days of tormenting each other over their rival events.

As fans of the ITV soap know Charity, alongside her son Ryan, saved The Woolpack by being the surprise buyer when the iconic boozer went to auction.

Once she became owner - again - Charity attempted to make Chas and Marlon Dingle jump through hoops to get their jobs back leading to Chas refusing to work with her. Chas has since accepted a job as manager of the B&B with Eric Pollard.

And in a Dingle war, Charity moved the re-opening of the Woolpack for the same night as Chas planned to host a party for recently married Vinny and Liv.

The pair's verbal row spilled over (ITV)

Both women face trials ahead of their big moments, with Marlon being left without food when his delivery 'didn't show up' - aka Eric sent the driver away, claiming the delivery had already been made.

Meanwhile, with the B&B facing a rat infestation, Lydia tried to find a new venue for Liv and Vinny’s bash and the family ended up at the Village Hall with Vinny and Liv ready to bless their marriage in front of the Dingle clan.

However, Charity was on the warpath and went to have it out with Chas but as the pair entered into another row, a mystery figure set off the sprinkler system, dousing the pair in water and ultimately ruining Liv and Vinny’s celebration.

Things then switched up a gear when the cousins traded more insults before Charity threw Lydia’s homemade potato salad in Chas’s face leading to a food fight between the pair in front of their relatives.

Eventually, it was Lydia who got the pair to stop their rowing after Paddy started to choke and had to be given the Heimlich maneuver from ex-wife, Mandy.

Emmerdale viewers were then soon having their say on social media over the scenes - and there was a clear divide

"So funny ! I loved the cat fight," @ marcelle.connjamieson said.

Whereas @mrtom1986 complained: "What a waste of an hour that was."

"Sick to death of Charity and Chas with their constant shrieking I have to fast forward. Ridiculous episode," @justme_30_01 fumed.

@jenny_private1 said: "How ridiculous was that. I don’t know anyone who acts like Chas n Charity acted - words fail me."

"SHOCKING - Terrible viewing tonight, turned the TV off!!" @ marcellefirman fumed.

And there was even more division by the end of the episode when Charity shared a moment with ex Vanessa.

Vanessa paid Charity a visit (ITV)

The pair spent much of the evening together when Vanessa decided to pay Charity a visit at the newly reopened Woolpack, only to find it closed.

Charity tried to turn her away at first as following the disastrous day but Vaness stood her ground and stuck around to help in the clean-up effort.

Then, as the pair chatted away over a glass of wine, Vanessa and Charity shared a tender moment with Charity apologised for the past and leading them into a near-kiss before Vanessa hastily left.

The former couple almost shared a kiss (ITV)

And while many Emmerdale fans have been hoping for a reunion between the pair, others think Charity is better off with boyfriend Mack

@maddie_roar said: "FINALLY!!! Been waiting too long!! #vanity."

Whereas @pa.ula3651 shared: " Nah ! Th ey've been there with that storyline. I prefer her with mack."

"No thanks! Prefer her with Mack! Vanity had there time/chance…" @{rachelm91_ echoed.
