ITV Emmerdale fans beg 'please' as they hope for Faith moment before her tragic death

It probably comes as no surprise that there were more tears for viewers of Emmerdale as the latest episode aired. The ITV soap was back on screens on Wednesday evening (October 12) and showed Faith Dingle being surprised with a day at the seaside. While she couldn't make the long trip to Whitby to relive earlier years with her children, Cain, Chas and the rest of the Dingle clan pulled out all the stops and brought the fun to her in the village.

Earlier this year the character, played by Sally Dexter, was given the devastating news her cancer was back and that it was terminal. She has since endeavoured to make the most of the time she has left with no treatment. But in recent weeks her health has taken a downward turn with her suffering more spells of confusion.

Despite this, she has continued to want to live her life as much as possible and longed for a trip to the seaside. But the day before the planned getaway, Fait suffered a fall. But true to form Faith was insistent the seaside trip will go ahead but Cain was determined to find a different solution.

The Dingles, therefore, started organising a surprise, and before long Faith was overwhelmed to see what they have done. During the latest trip to the Dales, viewers saw the Dingle's and Faith’s village friends bring the seaside to the Yorkshire village and she was thrilled to bits.

There were many poignant moments as Faith took everything in, while watching her family revel in the fun. And Faith still managed to keep a smile on her face when her young grandson Isaac asked her, in that way only a child can, what it's like to die. But before long, there was one last surprise in store, courtesy of Chas and Rodney Blackstock as an ice cream van parked up and as Faith was guided over to it, Diane Sugden appeared through the window.

Then, when Chas reminded Cain that he had shared a dance with their mum on their childhood holiday, the usual grumpy Dingle asked his mum to dance again to the same song. Faith told her son just how much she loved him, and Cain was emotional as he began to return the sentiment.

But as he struggled to get his words out, he was rudely interrupted by Sam's failing sound system. Faith shouted at him to get it fixed but the moment had gone and Cain walked away from his mum without saying those three important words. Despite him not saying he loved her too, it was clear that Faith knew what Cain wanted to say as she chatted with pals about her perfect day.

However, with Moira the only one aware that Faith intends on ending her life, her daughter-in-law watched on with concern as she heard Faith declaring that if she died tomorrow, she could now die happy as she was at 'peace'. Emmerdale viewers know that the heartbreaking scenes are set to come during Thursday evening's hour-long trip to the village.

But they have made a plea for one thing to happen before Faith's time in the village is up once and for all. @nathanfillionfan said: "Omg Cain why didn’t you say it." @osborne5351 commented: "I just wanted to hear him say those words back. Please please let this happen."

@traceylouise_2019 shared: "Why can’t he say it back? He needs too coz he will regret it if he doesn’t." @chelleb.1745 echoed: "Ahhhh Cain just tell her you love her before its too late or you will regret it. (I know its pretend but yano lol)." @amyharleyquinnxx2 added: "Please let Cain just tell Faith that he loves her to cause he only get one mum and the end o the day I love it so much just please let it happen."
