Emmerdale fans said they were laughing as one scene during the latest trip to the fictional Yorkshire village caused confusion. The ITV soap was back on screens on Wednesday night (April 12) and viewers found themselves being taken away from the drama over a 'crazy' distraction - the weather.
Fans have watched many of the village's residents braving the cold, snowy weather but were left particularly baffled during the latest episode when an early scene between Marlon, Bear and Liam saw them sitting outside the cafe enjoying a hot drink before being joined by Paddy.
"I tell you what, I'm loving this Spring in the air. It's good for the soul," Bear said before the trio then decided that they should head off on a fishing trip. Other outdoor scenes also featured the cast in lighter-weight jackets. However, moments later, Caleb walked out of the shop into heavy snowfall before being confronted by his son, Nicky.
After overhearing Will Taylor sharing his concerns about Caleb, Nicky raced to tell his dad but couldn't initially reach him due to him spending time with new love interest Leyla Harding, leaving Nicky frustrated.
Nicky had already warned him against Leyla in scenes aired last week when their father and son relationship was exposed and told him to dump her, saying their plan had to come first. When he did eventually get to speak to his dad, Nicky was told off for meeting him out in the open.
And at that point, it appeared Nicky had had enough and warned Caleb about what Will had said and that he needed to focus, suggesting he was about to lose Kim's trust and cost them everything. Caleb soon turned on his son and told him he was winding him up, and that he needed to do as he was told.
But by this point, Emmerdale fans were distracted by the constantly changing weather and joked that the snow had its own role in the soap. @JDavvyy tweeted: "The Snow getting its own scenes now #Emmerdale." @JoGough67 commented: "#emmerdale. The snow is playing havoc with continuity."
@SundayGirl1972 echoed: "Continuity all over the place in tonight’s #Emmerdale snow one scene none the next." @MrBlitzed noted: "Some crazy weather in #Emmerdale lately..." @mikepriestley13 shared: "These time lapses are making me laugh.. characters were sat outside the cafe earlier and now it’s snowing #Emmerdale."
Others, however, made a more specific observation as @LaurenStubley replied to the previous tweet: "Only seems to be snowing when Caleb is on screen." @pam_debeauvoir spotted: "The snow only appears when Caleb and Nicky are around. I reckon they activate their own snow machine #Emmerdale." @Russ222fm asked: "#Emmerdale Has Caleb got his own personal Snow Storm?"
