Emmerdale's Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) has announced a big career change to his fans. The popular actor will be directing a werewolf movie called Wolf Manor.
Mr Brunt has been playing one of the farm's favourite characters for 25 years. It is known, however, that he is a horror film buff off-screen and has previously worked on other films such as Attack of The Adult Babies and Evie.
He says it is beneficial for him to have an extra trick up his sleeve as he has previously spoken of his fears of being axed from the soap, LeicestershireLive reports.
During an interview previewing the ITV soap's 50th anniversary plans he opened up on how he would feel if he were to be written out. He said: “If I was to go tomorrow though, I wouldn’t complain because I’ve had 25 amazing years – but long may it continue.
"I absolutely love that job to pieces. I can’t explain to you what it means to me.” He added: “I saw a picture the other day for the 25th anniversary and I’m in the picture, and I just think ‘oh my god, 25 years ago?’ It feels like seven. Your life just flashes along so quickly, but I’ve been so lucky."
Speaking of his new role the actor wrote: "Thank you to @FrightFest for hosting our Leicester Square premier last night. An amazing evening. @wolfmanorfilm Feeling rancid on the 6am train to Leeds this morning but full of pride for our cast and crew.”
Wolf Manor was written by Joel Ferrari and Pete Wild. It stars James Fleet, from The Vicar of Dibly, and John Henshaw, from Early Doors.
