ITV Dancing On Ice star Rachel Stevens pulls out of show after suffering a nasty fall

ITV Dancing On Ice star Rachel Stevens has been forced to pull out of Sunday's show.

The former S Club 7 band member was due to make her debut on the ice skating competition this week, but an injury means she can no longer perform.

The 43-year-old singer suffered a bad fall on the ice during training and has sustained a fracture to her wrist.

Rachel was set to take to the ice with professional skater Brendyn Hatfield for the first time this weekend after months of rehearsing.

The former S Club 7 singer shot to fame as part of the chart-topping band between 1999 and 2003.

She later embarked on a successful solo career and finished second on Strictly Come Dancing in 2008.

A spokesperson for Dancing on Ice announced that Rachel will unfortunately miss her show debut.

"Due to an injury sustained in training and on the expert advice from the Dancing on Ice medical professionals, Rachel Stevens will not skate in this Sunday's show.

"We look forward to her returning to the show next weekend," the statement said.

It has been confirmed that Rachel will perform for the first time during week three of the competition on Sunday, January 30.

Dancing On Ice was also thrown into chaos earlier this week as it was announced that Happy Mondays star Bez had tested positive for Covid-19.

The Happy Mondays musician, from Manchester, took to the ice for the first time last Sunday in the first show of the series.

However just a day later, it was revealed that he has been forced into isolation after catching Covid-19.

The 57-year-old is partnered with reigning skating champion Angela Egaown and is expected to make a return to TV screens on January 30, for week three's show.
