ITV Corrie's Sally Dynevor shares why watching Dancing on Ice will be 'weird' and teases whether she'd do I'm A Celeb after Sue Cleaver

Coronation Street star Sally Dynevor has said it'll be 'weird' watching this year's Dancing on Ice following her own experience on the show. The actress, who is famed for playing Sally Metcalfe - nee Webster - in the ITV soap, took to the ice during the 2022 edition of the hit skating show.

Sally was partnered with Matt Evers, who has another soap star partner for 2023 in former EastEnders star Patsy Palmer, and made it all the way to week seven when she was voted off the show after landing in the bottom two for the second time. But as she left, the soap star told hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield it was her time to go.

Chatting to the presenters with her pro skating partner, Sally said: "Everyone's so good, the competition is so good, that I think it's time for me to go." Holly replied: "No don't say that!" with Phillip echoing the same sentiments, before telling Sally: "Don't vote yourself off!" as Matt laughed beside her.

And her exit came after she was joined on the ice by her Corrie co-star Antony Cotton who made a surprise cameo during her hairdresser-themed routine to pop classic You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real).

Ahead of the new series, which starts on Sunday night (January 15) on ITV, Sally told the Manchester Evening News last month: "I loved Dancing On Ice, it was amazing." However, you won't find her down the local ice rink keeping up her new-found skill. "For me, the fun of it was being lifted up in the air and twized around," she laughed.

"I really didn't want to be put on the ice to be fair. But I'm looking forward to watching the next series." Though having done the show herself, the viewing experience will now be much different. "It will [be weird] because I know how those nerves feel just before the live show but I'll be supporting," she said.

But having now done Dancing on Ice, would Sally take part in any other reality shows such as I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here following co-star Sue Cleaver's stint at the end of last year? "I thought Sue was brilliant in the jungle. Really, really good. She was like the motherer of the group. She did the cooking, she was really kind and I thought she did really well."

She also said she 'couldn't wait' to quiz her on her experience. So does that mean we could see Sally swapping Weatherfield for the jungle? "I always said I'd never do I'm A Celeb but who knows. You just don't know, do you? I quite like all the adventurous stuff but I'm not keen on frogs or on snakes so I think I'd struggle with that."
