Coronation Street star Joe Frost kept his reaction very simple as his character was bumped off. The actor arrived on the cobbles of the ITV soap back in October 2021 as a new love interest for Jenny Connor.
The Rovers Return landlady fell for the younger man following her split from husband Johnny Connor. The pair were enjoying an exciting new relationship when disaster struck and Johnny was killed having tried to rescue his wife from a sinkhole that dropped into the Victorian sewers.
More recently, the pair got engaged as Jenny finally agreed to leave her much-loved home to start a new life in Canada with Leo. However, the character's suspicions of Stephen Reid appear to have got in the way as Corrie fans watched Leo plunge to his death after a scuffle with the Canadian businessman.

After catching him lying about staying in a hotel when he really slept in his car, Leo discovered that Stephen had also shared a kiss with his fiancee Jenny Connor while they were on a break. Leo ended up punching Stephen and, on a mission to prove that he's a liar, he confronted him about his plan to get his hands on the equity from his mum Audrey’s house.
As he followed Leo onto the Underworld factory gantry, Leo taunted him, threatening to call Audrey. Seeing red, Stephen lunged at Leo and the pair got into a scuffle over his mobile. But it wasn't long before Stephen sent Leo plunging over the railings with the victim landing in the commercial bin below.
Later, Stephen returned to the scene of the crime, tipped Leo's lifeless body out of the bin and hauled him inside in order to hide his body elsewhere and cover up his shocking crime. And Leo's death, obviously, means an exit for Joe after just under a year in Weatherfield.
Taking to social media, the actor reshared a video from Corrie's official social media account which showed the moment Leo plunged to his death. "Did you think Stephen would go this far?!" the soap asked. Retweeting the post, Joe had a one-word response as he typed: "Ouch!"
And Corrie fans shared their sadness at seeing him go. @davidbell961 said: "I was hoping when he opened the bin in the dark you wouldn’t be in there." @Mickney_2017 replied: "Going miss Leo. Poor Jenny, good luck for the future." @MadmadonnaMike commented: "Never expected that! Will miss you on Corrie- Jenny never has any luck."
@TribalGoat posted: "Was really enjoying seeing Leo start to get more screen time in what looked like a decent plot...Classic Corrie twist though, we didn't see this coming! Best of luck in whatever you do next mate. #HesInTheBin." @miss1katy added: "What an awful way for poor Leo to go although its been a fab year for you in the best soap and wow what a way to be killed off! Phew do hope it might mean you go back into theatre again now soon and I can come say hi but just rather gutted and poor Jenny."
