ITV Corrie's Jack P Shepherd says 'where's the fun' as concerned co-stars issue advice after getting 'nudes'

Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd was issued advice by his co-stars to make a simple change after he confessed to a 'nudes' fiasco. The actor, who is famed for playing David Platt in the ITV soap, a role he has held for more than 20 years, made the admission on a recent episode of his podcast.

Jack hosts the Sofa Cinema Club podcast with Corrie co-stars Colson Smith and Ben Price which they first launched in 2018, hears, and sees, them set aside an evening to settle down on the sofa and watch a movie.

After each movie night, the soap stars swap their sofas for the studio to discuss what they loved, hated, and rated about the films. But last year Jack, Colson, and Ben talk their podcast to the stage with a sold-out live show at the International Anthony Burgess Foundation.

Asked whether they'll be doing more, Craig Tinker actor Colson told the Manchester Evening News: "Definitely. Definitely more in Manchester. I know there's more stuff planned." But because only 140 people were allowed into the last one, Colson says they didn't have any guests of their own and told friends and family that if they wanted to come, they needed to buy a ticket.

And Jack's on-screen sister Tina O'Brien, who plays Sarah Barlow in Corrie, was the one to do just that. "Tina was like, 'I've got a ticket'. It sold out in 24 hours. She's hardcore. She loves the podcast and she said to us afterward [that] she really enjoyed it."

But back to the podcast itself and ahead of a new series, launching on February 9, Colson, Jack and Ben, who stars as Nick Tilsley in Corrie, posted a clip to their Instagram page in which they were discussing incidents with AirDrop, a service on Apple products that allows you to share and receive photos, documents, and more with other Apple devices that are nearby.

It started with Colson discussing people googling him when he's there. "I know what pictures of me are at the top of Google and I see the pictures and I'm like..." to which Jack replied: "I know that page anywhere," with a laugh. "You're on page four of Google. Ben then quipped: "I've looked at my own images enough to know you're at page 444 of the images of me, running."

It lead Colson to ask: "Do you not ever, like sat on an airplane or sat in a public space and look at your phone and it says 'so and so wants to AirDrop' and you'll accept it and it'll just be a picture of you?" Ben was quick to reply: "No, never! I've never accepted an airdrop," to which Jack agreed.

"My anxiety never lets me not," Colson confessed to a confused Jack who asked: "Do you always accept them!? I never accept them. I've been sent them." Colson then shared an anecdote that seemingly went where no one was expecting. "Do you remember in the pub when the girl was airdropping you her number and pictures?"

"Nudes and things like that," Jack added. "I didn't accept them but it shows you a preview of what they're sending and yeah, I've had them. A few male nudes, I've been sent them!" While Ben appeared slightly perplexed, Colson confirmed that Jack's name for his iPhone is pretty obvious.

"Oh that's why!" Jack replied in a lightbulb moment. "Mine just says iPhone," Ben said. "Definitely not 'Ben's'." Jack commented: "Oh, I'll have to change that then. I didn't know! Because I do get them quite a lot. That must be it." Colson then advised: "You can change it to 'contacts only' to which Jack said with a smile: "But I'm not going to do that... because where's the fun?" leaving Ben to conclude: "You've asked for it!"
