Coronation Street fans were delighted to get an update on one of the street's most famous characters last night (Monday November 28). As Sally Metcalfe shared a gossip with neighbour Mary Taylor during their hair appointment, the proud mum couldn't help gushing about her eldest daughter.
"Rosie's doing really well with modelling," Sally shared. And viewers were in stitches as she continued about the bubbly model: "People think Rosie is ditzy but beneath that giddy exterior there's a fearful intellect."
The mention of Rosie had fans fondly calling for the character, played by Helen Flanagan, to make a comeback to Weatherfield. Soap watchers took to Twitter to have their say.

@RyanTheSoapking demanded: "Bring back Rosie." And they remarked excitedly: "Rosie mention." @TraylorHolmes tweeted: "I’d love Rosie to come back." And @penniless_poet commented: "Be great if Rosie came back - it might lighten things up a bit."
In July Helen, 32, sparked excitement as she Instagrammed a photo of herself reunited with her Coronation Street co-stars as they travelled from London to Manchester. The soap beauty took a picture of herself with Jack P Shepherd and Colson Smith, who play David Platt and Craig Tinker, as they caught up on a train journey.
It came after Helen teased her return to acting. The mum-of-three, who played Rosie in Corrie from 2000 before going on maternity leave in 2018 to have her second child Delilah, took to her Instagram page for a Q&A with her followers, urging them to ask her anything before answering the slew of questions posed by her loyal fans.
Someone asked: "Will you go back to acting?" And posting a snap of herself dressed up as her Corrie character, Helen responded: "I would love love to go back to acting and I am working on something at the moment." She then added: "I have three young children and they come first in anything I do."
Helen played Kevin Webster and Sally Metcalfe's eldest daughter, and Sophie Webster's older sister on and off in the ITV soap since she was a child. She originally took on the role aged nine and played Rosie until 2012.
She reprised the role in 2017, before going on maternity leave in June 2018 and hasn't been seen on the cobbles since. Her character left the cobbles for a new life last June after managing to overturn a drug lord in a bust at the Underworld factory.
In her final scenes she took centre stage on This Morning chatting to hosts Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield with her pals Craig and Gemma Winter about the drama at the factory. After the TV interview a modelling agent approached and she was offered a job in Japan, working on a TV game show
Memories of Rosie have resurfaced with serial killer John Stape bizarrely being at the centre of the drama again even after his death in 2011 with a new book being penned about her ex lover. In the soap Rose had an affair with teacher John when he was with Fiz Brown.
John's affair with Rosie was exposed in dramatic fashion on Christmas Day 2007. Kevin attacked John when he found out that the teacher had been sleeping with his daughter.
He was fired from his job but blamed Rosie for the downturn in his fortunes and kidnapped her. He locked her up in his dead grandmother’s attic for five weeks before she managed to escape. John later returned to kidnap her again, and after a car chase pursued by Kevin John crashed his car and later died from his injuries.
