ITV Coronation Street viewers 'unmask' Maria Windass' abuser after sex tape horror

Coronation Street viewers are convinced they have worked out who is Maria Windass' tormentor.

The character, played by Samia Longchambon, has embarked on a political career and put green issues at the top of her agenda. The environmentally friendly action has led to unintended consequences as the extra workload has sparked bin workers to go on strike.

Maria delivered a passionate speech on recycling to get the workers on side, but this backfired when a troll edited her words to a rap tune in a video posted online. However, the abuse worsened in tonight's show as her abuser made a deep fake video to make it appear as though she had appeared in a pornographic film.

Maria decided to hit back at the troll and insisted she would not back down and let the bullies win. The online abuse continued and Maria received a death threat at the end of tonight's episode.

Maria branded Max Turner a "creep" during tonight's show and fans on Twitter are convinced the character, played by Paddy Bever, is behind the abuse.

Melissa said: "Feel sorry for Maria! I reckon Max did that after she called him a creep"

Jazzi posted: "Why does this have Max written all over it? He is a right little creep Maria was right"

Tavern commented: "Max has got editing skills hasn't he?"

Kerry-Anne said: "Is it Max terrorising Maria??"
