ITV Coronation Street viewers in disbelief after show taken off air

Coronation Street viewers were in disbelief as the show has been taken off air tonight.

The long-running soap usually airs on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV. However, ITV will broadcast Women's International Football tonight instead as England take on the USA at Wembley.

The channel issued an announcement to confirm the this week's three episodes would be broadcast each day from Monday - Wednesday. Fans have taken to Instagram and Twitter and said they will "feel lost" without their Friday trip to Weatherfield.

Lucy tweeted: "Not me feeling lost without corrie this week on a Friday"

Corrie will return on Monday and will explore the fallout of Aaron Sandford and Summer Spellman's turbulent time on the Cobbles. Aaron has been rocked after his dad showed up on Weatherfield and Summer continued to defend her boyfriend after he punched Paul Foreman on the programme.
