ITV Coronation Street star says BBC Strictly's Kym Marsh is 'glowing' in makeup-free video before honest response

Kym Marsh had a very honest response when one of her former Coronation Street co-stars complimented her by telling her she looked 'glowing' in her latest Instagram video. The actress and singer took to the social media platform to share an update with her fans amid training for Strictly Come Dancing.

Kym, who played Michelle Connor in Corrie for 13 years before her exit in 2019, will be back in the ballroom on Saturday night as the BBC One dance contest returns to screens alongside her dance partner Graziano Di Prima. The dancing pair will be coming back fighting after landing in the dance-off last week.

Kym and Graziano faced Matt Goss and Nadiya Bychkova. Both couples had to re-perform their week four routines before the judges cast their final vote. It came after the pair performed the samba to Volare by Gipsy Kings, which earned the 46-year-old actress score an impressive 32 out of a possible 40 and earned great praise from the judges.

But it was Kym and Graziano who were saved and will be dancing another week. In week four of the competition on Saturday night, they'll be doing the Quickstep on Saturday night to Ballroom Blitz, in a nod to Come Dancing, in the special show which celebrates the BBC's 100-year anniversary and will see all 12 couples perform to either an iconic BBC theme tune or dance in tribute to one of the BBC’s most loved services.

Taking to Instagram on Friday (October 21), Kym posted a video of her talking to the camera, still appearing in an all-black gym ensemble with a scrunchie on her wrist. "Hiya, hope you've all had a good week," the 46-year-old started. "I've had a really good week. It's been great."

As went on to speak about their dance for this weekend and how Strictly is celebrating the BBC's centenary. She said that she and Graziano were "delighted" to be representing Come Dancing because it "was such an iconic show."

"Quickstep is quick, it turns out," Kym said with a laugh. "Should have guessed really because the clue is in the title. So it's fast and it's fun and we're going to do our very, very best and hopefully, you'll enjoy it."

The former Hear'Say singer then said: "It would be really great if we had your support his week, obviously we were bottom two last week and someone's gotta go and it was my turn to be in the dance off and it was horrible. It wasn't nice at all. It was a bit of a reality check really as you realise suddenly this is a competition and you're competing against people you really like and it was horrible.

"But if I could avoid the dance-off this week that'd be great," she added with a laugh. "That would be epic!" She then ended her video by saying 'keep dancing' before writing a note in the caption. "A little chat with you all!!" she typed. "Hope you’ve had a great week!! Hoping we have your support this week, really would mean the world to us! Thank you so much for all the love and support so far and keeeeeeeep daaaancing!!!!"

Graziano was among the first to reply, writing: "Yeeeesss Marshhh!! Yeees my WARRIOR," to which Kym replied with simply a heart emoji. Meanwhile, Georgia Taylor, who plays Toyah Habeeb in Corrie, replied: "Kym, you are absolutely glowing!" But Kym didn't seem to agree.

"Ahh thank you darling xxx how I have no clue cos I’m shattered," she replied to which Georgia said in response: "Well it’s bloomin working for ya! [crying laughing emoji] I’ll be cheering you on (and voting!) tomorrow night."
